Unserved Travel Markets--Minneapolis

Anyone else feel that they live I a market that is underserved by travelers? I live in Minneapolis and I feel we don't get enough travelers. Those that do come here usually tell me that they also find it underserved so they usually stay busy here. Any others feel the same way?

I used to notice that Steven Draker, when he was "touring" around the States on his frequent (semi-annual, at least) trips from Europe, often included Minneapolis for a few days as part of his itinerary.....he must have considered the city as good for him to include it so often.....for myself, Jeremy Walker would be a good choice for however long he remains available.....Draker always included a number of places in the States which seemed like possibly unusual choices.....again, must have worked OK for him.

I live in Minny as well and I agree we don't get many travelling providers. Pretty sure that's due to the higher fixed costs for visiting. It's more expensive to fly in to MSP than other hub airports and hotels are pricey comparatively if you want to be in a downtown core. Not to mention a vehicle rental if you need to travel to the burbs rather than only hosting. Many providers that don't have other business or family or whatever obligations in the Twin Cities will be lucky to break even. And I haven't even factored in the ten months of winter...

According to what I've been told... Minneapolis is a good yet not great market in the winter when hotels are cheap and there's nothing else to do... I would recommend escorts to go there once per year but not to over do it.

I lived there years ago for a two year stint and loved it. I met a provider for a weekend last summer and we had a great time. He grew up in Wisconsin. It’s a very gay-friendly place and there are plenty of high-paid guys there so I wonder why it’s so dead.

Yes it has to do with capitalism. Not enough reliable clients for escorts to make a living.

Regarding Draker, I never gave it much thought but entirely possible - individual clients were hiring him / bringing him into some of those "out of the way" / more off the beaten path places for an overnite or whatever whenever they had the opportunity of having him in the States.....& then on his own, he would hang around those places for an extra day or 2 & advertise, thus making himself available to any other interested folks.....instead of flying, whenever he did his transatlantic crossings by ship it was always as a paid travel companion.....& never in steerage class either......I have guys that I've taken along on fairly "normal" vacations.....Draker had a clientele who took him along on spectacular, once-in-a lifetime trips.....repeatedly.

Not saying Draker did not come with (first class) baggage, errrrr drama.....he had a mix of admirers & detractors on these boards.....I think he also possibly had a couple "forced" timeouts on these boards as well - part of his price of admission here if he wanted to interact with clients here that might be available to him.....I could be wrong - it might have been catfights between Nicholas & him that were entertaining sometimes.....maybe he "fought" with somebody else (Rockhard ? or was he much earlier?) other than BN.....it's pretty much long ago h-i-s-t-o-r-y.

Unfortunately I have not hired any locals (kind of hesitant about it), but there are two I would like to hire, Jeremy and Colby.

Kman, I agree that the number of advertisers has increased. But still I have to also agree with Marylander1940 that there isn't enough demand to sustain the traveling providers. I would say the same for the other flyover Midwest cities that I frequent with work.

He’s not a super masc guy if that’s what you’re looking for ... haven’t hired but have met out and about. Makes me chuckle whenever someone has “jock” etc. in their profile as they may have the bod but not the masc aspect that a lot are seeking when hiring a “jock”.

I've had very good experiences with MPLSJock. Is he butch, no, but the effeminate descriptor goes too far IMHO. He's well built, and much sexier in person than comes across in his pics. Hard to compare him to Jeremy W, who I think of as a butch top who gives off a gay for pay vibe. In contrast MPLSJock, aka "Colby," comes across (and delivers) as a hot gay jock bottom.

I recall that his bod was very recognizable when he was cliff diving in some spot near Rio & the same recognizable bod while hang gliding over Hong Kong.....all this being said - I wasn't a Draker fanboy too much either for a bunch of reasons.....
