So I'm not a techie by any means I've been trying to wrap my mind around blockchain. What is it? How does it work? How can it work in the future? I came across this video and it helped me someone who is kind of simple minded at times have a better understanding.

One of the more cool applications I’ve seen is the use of Blockchain to sell hotel room nights.

“Ownership” of a room-night can be securely sold, auctioned and transferred instantly without the messiness and inefficiency of centralized reservation systems.
