I think that is a fairly common business modus operandi for many masseurs. They don't want to commit to erotic/escort interaction unless they find you hot. That is their prerogative but unfair if their ad is misleading and causes the client to think there will be such interaction above and beyond the massage. On the other hand, it cuts both ways. Several years ago (maybe longer?) they were in the Showtime "reality" show "Gigolos" that had a six-season run. As I recall, the "sex" scenes were essentially soft porn. Nothing to get excited about.
