  10. Yes, you are right about hitting such a high note in dress rehearsals. I really thought that he might avoid it all together. I have seen enough dress rehearsals over the years to know that some singers such as Placido Domingo (even in his prime ) sang all his high notes in a falsetto and others such as Marilyn Horne would rearrange her cadenzas at the ends of arias so as to have the high notes be an octive lower. So I'm cutting Signor Fanale some slack thinking that it was not even his best high note. Yes, like @TruHart1 sono inammorato di questo bravo giovanotto. I'm in love with this fine young man... unfortunately he's married with children... I have never seen any hot guys in leather at the MET, nor have I gone to the MET wearing my harness, but as I have posted here previously I did see a couple of guys at Opera Orchestra of NY at Carnegie Hall a few years ago wearing leather chaps and vests. They were assless chaps, but they were wearing them over their jeans...
  11. Well, this kind of echoes the discussion we have had in the Callas Remastered thread the last couple of days regarding looks vs. size vs voice, etc. All I can say is that given the size of his biceps, I almost didn't care if he was able to sing the D-flat at the conclusion of the piece. Well he hit it... neither the best nor the worst that I have heard. I know he has sung roles such as the Duke in Rigoletto. I can easily see how some director would be able to have him appear shirtless and still respect the intentions of both the librettist and composer. Worth another look... http://logoonline.mtvnimages.com/uri/mgid:uma:image:logotv.com:10958909?quality=0.8&format=jpg&height=495&width=660 Or two...
  12. For a fleeting momeent I thought that I could get away with wearing a tank top to the MET, but alas the part about the "body of a Teutonic God" proves to be the proverbial fly in the ointment!
  13. A couple of years ago I recall that the MET website recommended that one dress comfortably. I would not go in a tank top and gym shorts which is my preferred mode of dress, but I do dress comfortably and in what I think is an appropriate fashion with dress pants and a classy casual type shirt. Let's just say that I have never felt out of place and my preferred seating area is the Dress Circle followed by the Grand Tier . Of course earlier in this thread we discussed and posted pictures from the MET's website depicting the various way that folks dress. It seems that anything goes and indeed the MET is encouraging that. Since Joan Sutherland was mentioned I do recall seeing an older gentleman wearing jeans and a lumberjack style plaid flannel shirt at a Sutherland performance of I Puritani many years ago. That was in the orchestra section and his seats were halfway down the isle. So times have changes, there were no tiaras but back then I thought that he looked out of place. That would not be the case now, but still I personally would not consider going that route unless someone gave me tickets at the last moment and I had nothing better to wear!
  14. I'm not sure why but reading that reminded me of some S&M jokes... I have an S&M kit. It's brand spanking new. Some advice for the S&M Dom aka a Top tip: A gag stops the sub from using the safe word. If a masochist goes to hell, he actually goes to heaven??? How do you really punish a masochist... obviously by not punishing him. We're starting our bondage world tour by being bound for London... However, getting serious again you are indeed correct in emphasizing the after care aspect of S&M. It's the final step in nurturing the sub back to reality.
  15. After all that turkey you ate yesterday... Not to mention what you might be feasting on tomorrow!!!
  16. At the conclusion there is a disclaimer regarding what you DID NOT SEE... that is the care and mutual respect taken to make things safe and totally concentual. It is obvious that the sub was given plenty of time to rest and recover during the scene. This is evidenced by the many fadeouts that occurred. Also, a significant time must have elapsed between the opening scene and the final scene as some minor red marks that were evident earlier on were totally gone at the conclusion of the scene. It was hard to determine what type of a device the Dom was using early on, but by the final moments he had definitely switched to a more lethal single tail. Also it was obvious that the Dom knew exactly how far to go with each of his accoutrements as during one segment he seemed to be going a bit easier and lighter with his blows, but the sub's reaction indicated an increase in intensity. That indicated that the Dom was using a more lethal weapon and was using it responsibly so as not to cross the line. Of course from my point of view the line was eventually crossed by the end of the scene as the busing was a bit overly intense. However, the line was never really crossed as everything was consensual and the sub actually got what he wanted, craved, and needed to be totally satisfied. Seeing the complete video helped put things into the proper perspective. Thanks to @Walker1 for posting! HOT AS ALL HELL and now to quote @honcho , "Now I need to go hurt myself"!
