I totally agree, but it is the only show in town. The guy who owns the place has probably never cleaned it. Not sure if you have ever seen it with the lights on, but it is indeed beyond dirty with cum from the dark ages on the walls and floor. They also keep it way too dark in the place which makes it difficult to do S&M scenes and especially in the back room areas. Plus some of the equipment... namely the wooden contraption on the upper loft area needs to be repaired.... the chains and cuffs broke several years ago and the powers that be never replaced or even repaired them last that I knew. That is my favorite spot to do a flogging. Also, unless the crowd is large not all of the lower areas are opened on most nights. That usually only happens on Folsom East and Pride weekends.
Some of the regular guys do tend to be clicky. One person in particular... a rather young guy who thinks that he knows it all... seems to want to be in charge of every scene. If you ask to help him he always has things “under control”. There is also an older regular guy who has an attutude as well. He has a snooty British accent
Yet there are a couple more or less regular guys with whom I have played who are quite a bit of fun. Plus, at times guys who are friendly and knowledgeable do attend and it is tnteresting to learn some of their tricks of the trade. Also, I have on occasion clicked with some younger guys who were interested in expanding their horizons. In addition, Bryan and Phen are both very friendly and personable. Bryan is more into the Bondage aspects but that is not really my thing. Phen (aka the Thai that binds) is quite knowledgeable regarding not only Bondage but S&M as well. However, since he has has issues with his eyesight he refrains from doing flogging and single tail scenes.
The solution is to go there with others who you know. I have also met various forum members there over the years and on a few occasions gone there with escorts as well in both hire and non-hire situations. I was not familiar with the NYC scene in the Giuliani years, but I do recall that at the beiginning of this century that you had to literally show your cock to the guy at the door at Paddles to gain entrance. Bottom line nowadays it’s a crap shoot regarding what you might find on any given night. Unfortunately since I moved out of the area I can not attend on a regular basis. Still as I noted in my first sentence it is the “only show in town”, at least the only show with which I am familiar.
