I can only offer my experience. There's no guarantee that what works for me will work for you and I'll have to issue the disclaimer that I discovered that I really, really enjoy experiencing pain in my testicles (not scrotom) when I get aroused. The extent to which my balls stretch hasn't expanded much over decades. And a couple of friends of mine have had serious problems when they were overeager with it. And during a session, when your balls or scrotom starts to hurt in a way that you don't enjoy, *STOP*. So, I'd start with the kind of cotton shoelaces used with sneakers. You can easily control how wide the stretcher is, and what the diameter is. Start slow and work up to smaller diameters and wider bindings over the course of a week or two. Leather ones have less lattitude - the possible widths are quantized by the number of snaps. Most of the time I wear a two-snap, with double fastenings. Metal ones look intimidating and can have a lot of fear factor, but I would not recommend investing in anything until you get a feel for what your size is once you're settled in. They can be rather pricey. Post covid, I'd recommend going to some place where you can try metal ones on - those can be sanitized and disinfected, whereas leather ones really can't be.
