Every single person I have ever hired in NYC has been on short notice. I have found that “Available Now” usually means just that. I guess I have been lucky. However, I haven’t hired anyone in NYC in almost a year for various reasons.
I’m surprised he didn’t tell you he was kidnapped & lost his phone & wasn’t able to read your messages until he bought a new phone after someone paid the ransom. That would be a more believable story than the one he told you.
It’s possible that the guy(s) aren’t totally comfortable being seen out with another probably much older man because they are concerned what others may think. Especially if they identify as “straight”. I would not automatically assume that just because I am seeing someone in the privacy of my own home or a hotel room that they want to go out on the town with me. Perhaps it’s best to arrange to meet privately for the first meeting to avoid being stood up at a restaurant.
Or if you prefer...you can wait & go hear him preach the gospel

Frank Defeo & Ronnie are two guys that lived in South Jersey that I wish I had made the effort to go meet. Now they both are gone. May they rest in peace.
I am surprised to hear they are doing this. The same scammer has been posting an ad every other week using the same 2 sets of stolen pictures & they run the ads each time. I don’t know how this guy gets around their “verification“ but he has been successful at least 6 times.
Here is a NYT article about him from 2014 when he was released from prison.

Thank you for posting this. It brought back great memories of when NYC actually had an exciting nightlife before Giuliani became Mayor & ruined everything. There were so many clubs to go to in Manhattan. Now there are hardly any. (Thanks to COVID there are zero that are open). As for Michael Alig...he was given another chance after doing 17 years for murder. Too bad he could not stay clean.
