Not sure about other places, but the vibe in San Diego is pretty chill. If a masseur advertised as discreet I wouldn't say anything. The situation felt right at the time. Guess it all depends on the specific place/time/etc, but I definitely wouldn't say there's an absolute rule against it. It was a quick conversation. He certainly didn't seem annoyed or bothered by it.

I honestly don't think price is the indicator here. I think it's the quality of the man behind the service. I see 2 - 3 guys regularly. They are nothing like the guys some describe here. They are reasonably skilled at massage and 2 offer full services. They are warm, polite and not full of themselves, even though they could be. They engage in conversation before and after. Two are very pricey ($200+) and one is ($160). None of them upsell during a massage and detest the practice. We all know there are asshole masseurs, but we also know there are assholes on this forum as well. My point is, you have to try to ascertain the information about the man. Read what people say here, but weigh it against what the many say here, not the few. Send PM's. Be a smart consumer. These guys are running a business and we are their customer base. For the many, if you treat them with respect, you will fulfill your desires. Treat them like dirt and so shall yee recieve. End of Sunday sermon.....

I think that it's always difficult to discern from ads on the massage sites whether a masseur is really serious about massage or just an "Escort Lite." In my experience, if the masseur is serious, they will offer a table and if they're all about the extras, they'll do it on a bed.

I can totally understand the former request, and like you I'd have no problem sending a pic to a masseur I'd already seen previously to jog his memory. But a new masseur requiring a pic before sending his address, and then ghosting you after you were courteous enough to send it?? That's insane. Makes you wonder how some of these guys stay in business.

Um... Not sure where to begin with this... If you really are a client, why do you care? And if you're a masseur, then isn't this just part of the job?
 
When I'm booking a massage I definitely want to see what I'm getting into. If a guy doesn't have many pics in his profile, if they are fuzzy, if they look overly photoshopped, or if there seems to be age/body differences between the different photos then you're damn right I'm going to ask for more pics. It's my right! Just as it's the masseur's right to tell me no.
 
Let's be honest, these guys make pretty good money (and some of them without any real training or expertise at all!). If I'm about to fork over good money to them the least they can do is be a good sport and send photos if requested.
 
Though tangential, this ties in well to my original post. Masseurs who request pics = red flag. Masseurs who give me a hard time if I ask for a few more pics = red flag. Moral of the story: shady tactics = lost business. It's simple math. End rant.

Honestly, I think it varies market to market. In Los Angeles there's huge crossover between those two sites AND rentmen.eu and some providers are on all of those and still work in legitimate massage spaces. In other towns I have noticed a more clear cut distinction between the sites. However, all that being said- still communicate with the provider directly in advance on your expectations, questions, and costs.

Table! No question about it. Massage is my primary focus though, so I may be biased on this point. I've only done bed massage a handful of times, but my neck always feels worse after than before (which seems to defeat the purpose!).
 
As for extras, I've had some pretty hot times on a massage table, but it was all just part of the "massage," not as a separate additional service. Cuddling might be tricky on a table...but I'm not there to cuddle.
