  1. I would take FTL over KW. I have only been to KW 3 times but it’s a small island. Nice to walk or bike around, you don’t need a rental car unless you want to visit some of the other keys. Not great for finding Rentmen. Nice for taking charter cruises either day trips or a couple of days.

Fort Lauderdale is a big city, with all that larger communities have to offer. Definitely need a car to get around unless you just want to stay at an all inclusive resort and stay put.

Thanks Luv. I'm off to Fort Lauderdale on March 3 and staying at The Worthington. Can't wait!

  2. Yes. It's a scam. I get hit up by these several times a week. They make it appealing with really hot guys that have a discounted rate of $40. They will send additional seductive and nude pics to entice you. All you have to do is register on a website with a $3 reservation fee. Don't fall for it!

Thanks Nick. I was surprised last week when I did indeed receive a Grindr hit from someone offering a $40.00 massage with a $3.00 reservation fee. It seemed way too good to be true and I did not take the bait. I'm in DC.

  3. I’m a voracious reader, and slick magazines have always been a favorite. I’ve probably subscribed to Sports Illustrated, Men’s Health, Time, GQ, and others for decades. Just this week, the new issue of GQ arrived, all 88 pages, which is about half or less of what it used to be. Sure, I know mags are shrinking and everything is online, and I do more than my fair share of reading them in that manner. Anyhow, I must be getting old, fussy, or simply “unwoke”.

Yeah, I know who Zendaya is. She’s talented, but cover-worthy of GQ? And the feature on Netflix star Noah Centineo was okay, but who-the-hell is he? Jimmy Butler’s write-up was probably the best, because, well, he is. But who the fuck are the Viagra Boys? Swedish punk rock ain’t on my current playlist, so I must be a dinosaur. I watch a little soccer when the NFL isn’t playing, but who is Christian Pulisic? The rest of the issue had a little bit of other stuff about “happiness” and hunting down a Rwandan criminal. That was it. Not one sniff and scratch cologne ad, either, thank you. Probably took all of 10 minutes to thumb through the pages and into the trash. On the other hand, the daily GQ newsletter I get online is far better than the print version.

Maybe it’s me. Maybe I’m ready for the old man’s version- the current one must be for the hip dudes still in their 20s. Just sayin.

I recently cancelled my subscription. Just couldn't relate anymore.

  4. Fort Lauderdale or Key Wet??? I'm planing a one-week to Florida at the end of February and can't decide where to go. I have not been to either place in years and would like input on where I might have more fun. One friend told be that Key West isn't even all that gay anymore. Re: hotels, it was suggested that I stay at The Worthington in FL and The Equator in KW.

    All suggestions appreciated.

  5. I love the Worthington. It's my favorite gay hotel. Because of its larger size and multiple pools and spas, there is always the opportunity to meet new friends. I just got back from a stay at the Worthington last week. Even though the resort was less than half occupied during my stay, I still had a fun time.

    Thanks man.

  6. I'm planning a trip to Fort Lauderdale in late February after my 2nd covid vaccination on February 13. I was told to stay at The Worthington. Good place? Any suggestions would be appreciated. You can private message me.

  7. Orange County, where I live, in Southern California is beginning to take appointments for covid19 vaccinations for all residents over 65. I don't have an appointment yet but should in the very near future. Los Angeles County appears to be completely clueless, at this point, and has not yet decided whether or not to begin inoculations for those over 65. Riverside County, where Palm Springs is located, is in the process of setting up a system similar to the one in Orange County.

Same here in DC. Starting this past Monday, residents 65 and older can now sign up for vaccinations. I'm getting my first dosage on Saturday, and the 2nd 28 days later.

  8. DC appears to be ahead of the curve. Starting this week, anyone 65 or older can get the vaccination. I was fortunate to get an appointment for my 1st vaccination this Saturday, and the venue automatically schedules the 2nd dose to be administered four weeks later. Light at the end of the tunnel.
