Definitely just ask him. You may be over thinking it too much. It sounds like he would welcome it to keep you as a dedicated client. Repeat customers is the gold standard for a great business foundation. -
I've been told that for big cities it can be very good for business. However, more folks are PNP to maintain the high which can contribute to higher flaking rates from both sides. The surge in visitors though can spike hotel rates.
