  1. I recommend Jorge at Shangrila. I've heard good things about Rodrigo there as well.

It's disappointing that you can't get photos or names of the staff at these spots.

Hush Manhattan at least has pictures of the guys and you can schedule with them specifically for body grooming and some for massage.

  2. So - the Times Square Spa website seems to be really problematic. I'm clicking around and nothing seems to work.

There are no photos of the therapists and no way to book online.

What's the protocol? Do you just call to book or go there as a walk-in? I'm a bit confused.

  3. I finally just experienced Adam at time square men spa. Amazing technique. More on the strong spectrum of massages . He lacked a bit on the sensual side but everything else was excellent . He looks asian but he is actually Russian also in his mannerism .

Can you tell me more about him? He sounds interesting. :-P

  4. So what do I think is going on with this masseur? I think he’s probably not in a great space emotionally and financially. We should have compassion for him. That said, he's in the wrong line of work and I suspect that the huge drop in rates is because he’s not getting repeat business and needs to lure new people in. I personally wish the best for this masseur, but I would strongly suggest potential clients to stay away. Just my two cents....

It's kind of you to be so compassionate. Massage is a tough business - it's hard on the body and, like any self-run business, if you don't work, you don't get paid. No paid vacations or sick days. I def understand how hard it is. My first encounters with him were 10 years ago. My most recent - in a non-massage setting - was about 8 months ago so if he's in a bad space, he's been in that bad space for over a decade.

That said, I enjoyed the massage itself. He does good work physically and my body felt good. But he made me uncomfortable.

  5. Same. And this is despite the fact that he and I did have chemistry, so I think it's his mannerisms.

I really found him to be a tricky personality. Something happened during the massage which he - very subtly - tried to blame me for. I went back a 2nd time, thinking I'd misunderstood our interaction but he was just as unpleasant the 2nd time. I'll never go back.

  6. A professional masseur (not a rub&tug guy) will sometimes ask you to book online, using your credit card to secure the spot. This way if you don't show up, he hasn't lost money. I think this is reasonable and it's standard practice at Spas and Salons. With a small, private business, masseurs sometimes get stiffed (no pun intended) by flaky clients. I'm happy to comply when I know it's a professional situation.

I've never been asked anything weird, though I know others who have.

  7. General question - Why do guys prefer spas over going to private masseurs?

I prefer seeing a masseur privately. They make better money so you generally get a better quality massage. If you're looking for a spa experience, it's hard to get the best if you want it to include any sensuality. I've sound the spas around NYC generally lacking.

  8. This is a great thread. I think it's important to consider that professional massage therapists are licensed in most states. Compromising them by answering questions - ESPECIALLY if they work in a spa or salon - is not what this group seems to be about.

Full disclosure: I'm a newbie and still learning how to comment and interact so as not to endanger anyone or make them feel unsafe.

I'm so grateful for this group. Since Masseurfinder wrecked the site by taking away user-generated reviews, there's nowhere else to get honest feedback. I want my favorite masseurs to keep working so I don't want to jeopardize their careers by saying anything inappropriate.

  9. Good write up. Very well done. You deserve an A! I am in town this weekend for a wedding flushed with cash from a death benefit(Good God, some eight years after my Fathers passing, yes I said EIGHT. LAWYERS!!!) what better way to spend it then by putting my naked ass up on some masseurs table! I might give Steve and Jon a try. If do. I will write back. Terp

You should def give Tommy a try too. Buddyworker's post is great but doesn't give you a sense of just how good he is. Seriously, best massage I ever had.

I def want to try Jon too.

  10. I often check in with my massage therapist the day before because there are some who don't confirm. However, if you aren't getting a response at 9 in the morning, that could be for any number of reasons. It's possible that your MT

    1. might not be awake yet

    2. might be with another client

And that's just three reasons I can think of off the top of my head.

Also, how late last night did you send your message?

Keep us posted! I'm eager to know what happened.

  11. He is right in that being on prep is the safest form of sex outside of abstinence. Condoms are less safe actually.

to be Accurate... PrEP is known to specifically prevent: HIV transmission.

Condoms have been known to prevent:

    HIV transmission, along with

    Syphyllis

    Gonhorrea

    Chlamydia

    Other STDs and pregnancy

And because of the physical barrier they create during anal intercourse, they also prevent infection that than occur by fecal matter than can get into the top partners urethral passages through barebacking.

Consistent, proper condom use has worked as a successful method of safe sex for millions, and I’m a living example to that.

As an aside (because NO method is 100% effective), the creators of PrEP intended for its use to be in conjunction with condoms.... However, many medical professionals were leery that their targeted audience would see this as a means to ditch condoms, just as the baby boomers ditched them when the birth control pill was created.

Monarchy is correct. PrEP, especially when used in conjunction with condoms, is effective in preventing HIV - HIV ONLY. But if your partner is HIV+, undetectable and on treatment, he couldn't pass the virus to you even if you WEREN'T on PrEP.

But PrEP does nothing to prevent all the other STDs out there, including Herpes, genital warts, and other diseases like Hepatitis, which can be spread through ass play.

The person you saw is ill-informed and if he really believed in being responsible to the community, he would be using condoms in addition to PrEP.

  12. I'm intensely curious about all methods of achieving hands-free orgasms. I've been investigating various toys, many of which have bad reviews in various forums online. I've purchased some toys which aid in this, but none of them allow you to lie back and wait. There's an amazing vid of a guy with a vibrator tied to his c*ck and I've been obsessed with trying to achieve this.

  13. And as far as MF being legit, what "legit" massage website has the masseur post a gallery of photos....sometimes up to 12......that look like a modeling portfolio? And then charge in the range of $120-$170/hr? To law enforcement this would be a red flag that the site is not legit. A "legit site" would have ONE photo of the masseur, and charge the standard rate of $60-$75/hr.

Rates of $120-$170 in NYC are average. $60-$70 you are talking about MassageEnvy and and Nail Salon quality massage. If you go to any reputable spa in NYC you will pay much more than $70.

What I mean by "legit" is that MasseurFinder is trying to eliminate as many red flags as possible and they changed significantly after Fosta-Sesta went into effect. Fosta-Sesta is the same reason Craigslist Personals disappeared. A masseur on MasseurFinder can post as many pictures as possible but cannot post shirtless or suggestive photos. The site is very strict about it and about the language used in both reviews and masseur ads.
