I saw Oklahoma at Circle in the Square last Thursday. I enjoyed it very much. I had never seen the play or the film before so the plot was brand new to me. I was surprised by the story line. I had a great time but I have to say that the two leading actors, Damon Daunno (Curly) and Rebecca Naomi Jones (Laurey), while very good, were not great. They didn't seem able to take their singing to the level the play deserved. Still it was a very good time.

I saw this Friday night. I had never seen it before. I had a blast. It was fun. The cast was amazing and the costumes - especially Sally Adams' dresses - reminded me of seeing shows on tv as a child. The friend I went with had seen the original with Ethel Merman. I remarked to her that I was sure Ms. Cusack could not meet Merman's performance. My friend agreed but we both thought - who cares. Ms. Cusack was just fine.

I saw this last night. It was one of those situations when I thought about backing our since I thought I'd find it boring. Then, I really enjoyed it. The acting was amazing as was the writing. It had very funny lines yet still dealt with a serious and sad plot. Well done.
