I've experienced the money up front thing with masseuses, not masseurs. As far as the appearance thing, I make my size clear and ask if there are any issues prior to setting an appointment. I have no issue when someone (all one of them) has said that it is an issue. I'd rather know and save my money.

I don't think this just applies to this industry, it applies to anything. I am more likely to continue to patronize someone if they seem to enjoy the fact that I am spending my money right then, right there. Whether it's buying a pizza, getting a massage or getting something more intimate -- if you can 'act' like the money is an inconsequential portion of the exchange, I am more likely to return. I once received a massage that was so mechanical that not only was I not relaxed, I ended up mostly uncomfortable and felt bad that I was wasting her time.

I am trying to play both sides of that fence by saying "I know what I want to happen" but also "I want it to just happen without my explicit instruction." I have experienced the not knowing I liked something until it was presented to me -- and that's always great. I've also experienced a lot of massage sessions that were scheduled as massage, but turned into something else (with M, T and W). I've found massage therapists (W and T) that very seamlessly (I might say organically) move from massage to something else with little to no verbal direction, which is what I like. I get to relax and enjoy. They rightfully earn my repeat business. I've still not found that experience with a masseur that I know is out there. I have found masseurs that move from one thing to another, but not the thing that I really wanted (but didn't ask for and didn't know if it was available). At any rate, I have some more direction on my homework -- so thanks for all the replies.

I'm actually curious now based on the last time this was posted. I am a client that is looking for both and would like a good massage (not a half-hearted rub) -- so am I looking for an escort with massage skills, or a masseuse that offers that extra something? I ask because many masseuses (is that a word) don't advertise the extra even if it is available and it seems many of the escorts offer massage but in my understanding you run the range of skill level there and may end up with the half-hearted version.
