No direct experience with this 'provider', but several 'social' interactions on Grindr, he was a jerk; catty, rude and disparaging about 'old guys' and 'fat guys'. He was not 'advertising' on Grindr as a provider. He was looking for a hook up or FwB. I'm not saying providers aren't allowed to have lives outside of the professional services they offer elsewhere, but 'brand consistency' can only help them. There are polite ways to say 'not interested' socially that won't directly conflict with the professional companionship services they offer elsewhere.

I would encourage you to cast several lines into this pond. My best success for these situations has always been the 'dating/hookup' apps such as Grindr and Scruff. State that you want Friends with Benefits in your profile and see what happens. I would also encourage you to lay out exactly what your 'must haves' would be. Are you exclusively a top into vanilla? Are you a bottom into leather? You also need to be prepared for a 'partial breakup' situation. What if you start out with the mindset of having a FwB relationship,but the sex just doesn't work - are you prepared to say "I think we're best off just as friends"? Or the reverse, the sex is great, but the hanging out part just doesn't work, are you comfortable with a FB? And as others have recommended, be up front about the 'What if one of us starts dating/gets a BF?' I also found getting the sex part under your belt early on tended to be best for all parties. If the sex was great, working on the friend part was easier, for me anyways, because lets be honest, sex is a huge motivator here for the other person's company. I believe all relationships - family, BF, FwB, FB, friends - have a better chance of success with open dialogue and expectations. I think this type of relationship specifically needs a bit more communication up front. Just my two cents...

I've spent years being depressed about single. I always thought I would retire to somewhere with a partner. Dump your video service and get better internet.... then add internet TV video services...Hulu, Netflix, Prime Video.... YouTube TV is just as good as cable TV. There are a ton of new advertising based TV services as well... Xumo, Pluto TV, IMDB TV that are free (with ads). Cable companies suck, but keep in mind, Disney/ABC, NBC, CBS, and all the other 'channels' keep increasing their rates to cable companies. They are just passing those increases on to their consumers. Some cable companies will actually start losing money on their video businesses because of the increases. You're paying hundreds of dollars and paying for channels you never watch. Sports are tough. NFL, NBA, NCAA, etc. also keep charging more and more....passing those increases to NBC, CBS, Fox, etc.... who then pass it to the cable company.... who then pass it on to you.

Just curious.... How many people spend Thanksgiving alone? I had the option of going to 'Atlantis' this year with my sister's brood.... Not my ideal vacation.... so for the first time in my life, I will be alone for Thanksgiving. I have lied to my family and use my fictional 'other city' friends....
