I have always wondered (and this to any masseurs on here) what is your take on tipping? Do you expect it? What is a reasonable amount? Unless the service is HORRENDOUS I always try to give something. Depends on their rate. if i'm paying a high amount I kinda think you got alot of money out of me already (will still give but not huge). I have had guys quote me their rate of xx + tip. I think that is ballsy to ask up front. It should be because the client had an amazing experience and wants to not forced to. IMHO

Btw I have gone to MT who I knew up front were straight and nothing would happen Sometimes you just want a good massage. For example, there is a guy here locally. Gay guy. Does GREAT massage. But up front he says nothing more than a massage and trust me nothing more. But he does a great job!! Yes I have looked into the local teaching school. Problem with that is I can only go Saturdays (their busiest day). You have to book so far ahead. That is hard to do for me. I want to check it out sometime. I know I will be draped. I know nothing will happen. But the price is good (think its $40). If it turns out to be a good massage, that is a no brainer for me (scheduling allowing of course).

Yes I would. I'm more interested in real massage vs HE anyways (read any of my past posts to show that). Sure it was a tad more expensive. Perhaps the text chat wasn't clear. I asked a few questions so maybe he was responding to an earlier one. Who knows I enjoyed it and thats al that matters. I was simply letting others out there know he delivered a perfectly executed deep tissue massage. MANY claim they do deep but rarely do I find someone who does it correctly, like he did.

I agree. I think it could have been the language barrier Also he is from NY where one can get away with that. I have found that when masseurs come from other areas that are higher priced they still charge those rates, without knowing the market (or perhaps they do and see if they can get away with it). Yes 140 was high but man it was a great massage !!!

We talked first and per his request (and documented on his page) I sent a pic. We seemed to have a good rapport which is another reason I didn't feel badly about asking. Some people might find it insulting, but many won't be bothered (from my experience). Again I did apologize to him. But no harm asking. I was very polite. I didn't harass Barage or say bad things to him nor did I pressure. When he said what he said I did just that i moved on. SIMPLE and DONE !!! I respect if he doesn't want to negotiate. But there is NO harm asking. But he didn't (IMHO) need to tell me he was turned off buy it. I was nice to him he could have shown the same courtesy. you are entitled to your opinion just like i'm entitled to mine I'm the one paying for this service. I had and don't have any problem asking if a rate is negotiable. He is essentially running a business. Its not uncommon in the business world to negotiate. It has worked for me many times. $150 is high IMHO for this particular masseur. His fee includes certain amenities which are obviously not present here (i.e. table clean linens etc). So again I have no problem asking for a reduced rate. The worst they can say is No. I then have to make the choice to accept or not. So when you are on eBay or at a yard sale for example do you accept those prices or tried to negotiate. It works here too folks. To be "turned off" by the request is IMHO inappropriate. He could have simply said no my prices are set. No need for the extra comments IMHO. Damm if he gets that offended so easily wow!!! Also the purpose of this site is to help others (either for good referrals or to weed out bad ones) What didn't share is the whole conversation where I did apologize to him but he still chose to voice his opinions (which he is entitled to as well). Never once did i get mad or demand. I simply asked. Agian I have ZERO problems asking. I don't appreciate being labeled for voicing my opinions I have had MANY massages. I think these are the only 2 or 3 that I have mentioned. So the ratio is extremely low - too low to label me IMHO. But at the end of the day y'all are entitled to your opinions.
