I met Nihal. He's an excellent, well-trained masseur. It is true that his place is a bit challenging to get to but the massage space is very nice; very tantra-esk... He's super engaging and far more handsome to me than his pictures. The massage was certainly thorough - checked all the boxes. That all being said, even with the clear increase in masseur prices all over and the fact that his current price is not what is quoted above, his price is still a bit steep for me to repeat.

LA Masseurs pushing their price point to the limit!!!
+ soberguy replied to Hey_Jay's topic in Spas & Masseurs
This is a tough situation. I can't imagine how difficult a career as a masseur must be at times. But inflation adjusted prices for massages in San Francisco in 2000 (I was paying $80 very consistently), should be $130 now. On average they appear to me to be much, much higher than that. I sincerely don't fault the providers - what the market bears is, in fact, appropriate. Unfortunately, I just get fewer massages now. Econ 101... -
Whoa, I have not had the experience that PSDaddy describes. If it's the same Palmer, I believe he's a bartender in Ptown during the summers and does massage in PS in the winters. His massage was great, albeit completely therapeutic.

In addition to Sean and Tony, who are both great, I can also happily recommend David. https://rentmasseur.com/RelaxU

I've met Artie several times and concur; good guy, good massage.
-
Palmer is a great guy and gives a fantastic therapeutic massage. Nothing more than that for me but I'd definitely go back.
-
All three of them are well worth it. You can't go wrong if you're looking for a very solid thera/sensual massage.

I met Travis a few years ago. He's a very nice guy. The massage was strictly therapeutic back then; I'm not sure how it is now.
-
I've seen Nick once when he lived in PS. The massage was fine but the overall experience was a bit blah for me. I've enjoyed other providers much more.
-
I had a fantastic albeit very therapeutic massage with Quentin. Nice, educated, low key guy.

I may have been one of the previous commenters. I've seen him several times. And will again. I think his rates may have gone up over the last couple of years but he travels to SF with his table and sets up very nicely. I'm very glad to have him in my little black book.

Does anyone have more recent experiences with Ryan? His communication has been a bit spotty for me and his rates are super inconsistent. He squeezes in an odd upsell into the discussion - ultimately it comes to $210 for a 90 min outcall. Seems steep even for SF. And I tend to balk when masseurs upsell a sensual experience. So I'm a bit reluctant unless others chime in that it's worth it. Thanks. https://rentmasseur.com/Small_Mighty https://www.masseurfinder.com/massage-therapists/32471/

I do appreciate the "dearth of variety in the summer months" comment as the rest of the year there is always someone new visiting - and new is certainly fun. But honestly, I try to get a massage whenever I travel to another city and have found some of my best experiences have been from the local PS guys. And, though it's subtle, in the summer some of them do drop their prices a bit and their availability is certainly much, much better. I kinda look forward to the summer slow down and engaging with the local masseurs. The bottom line is I think we just have to slip away to another city when summer variety is what we're looking for.

I've stayed at Hacienda and Santiago many times. In my opinion, they are both great resorts. Hacienda is a bit on the pricey side but the upkeep and service are not comparable. So if you have the means and are looking for a beautiful place to stay, I can definitely recommend it. In terms of cruisiness, it goes under the radar but I have had very pleasant physical encounters with other guests every time I've been; it's a behind closed doors sort of thing. Santiago is also nice, though not on the same scale. And in my experience the price is significantly less than the Hacienda. I've always had a great time at Santiago; beautiful open pool and super friendly guests. It does seem to get a bit cruisy at night with guys wandering around peaking where they can but it's fun and manageable - not sex clubish. Another place to consider is La Dolce Vida which is my favorite. They've recently done a renovation in most of their rooms so it's got a fresh feel. It has two pools which is fun. Originally it was two separate resorts and the transitioning element between the two sides adds a bit to the sex vibe for some reason but like Santiago it's never been too over the top. And similarly, the other guests have always been super engaging. I have a great time whenever I stay there. I hope that helps and have a great visit.

I followed up with this Zac and to be honest, it's a bit hard to match this pic to the guy. In real life he's definitely much older than the pic implies and he wears a mask. Still young by my measure and he's very, very handsome but not really recognizable to this particular picture. That being said, his massage was top notch - he is very well trained. I highly recommend him and I look forward to seeing him next time I'm in the desert.

Thanks Mark4133. I appreciate the info. I think our texting was just off - that happens. I'll give him a try for therapeutic massage some time.
-
Yeah, that's definitely true. I appreciate the point. If I see someone on both MF and Thumbtack I may choose to not use Thumbtack but you're definitely right, the masseur signed up for those costs.
-
Quote from a masseur who posts both on both MF and Thumbtack: Masseur: "Thumbtack charges per Lead. Every time you contact someone it's assumed that you have read all the specifics and therefore want to hire them. Your oversight cost me $7" Me: "I had no idea. That's not something they make clear. Sorry" Masseur: "It was included in the fine print when you signed up for the service. So now that you have the knowledge pay more attention..." Notwithstanding that this admonishment was a bit harsh (I didn't include the entire exchange but you can probably get that the overall tone wasn't pleasant), has anyone read this in the 'fine print'? If this is true, then it really is something to consider as I often reach out this way to get more info. Though, I myself certainly won't be booking this particular masseur (his loss, I'm a very generous and extremely respectful client).

Martin has great reviews on MF but was extremely rude and condescending when texting. Did I just catch him on a bad day or is that a red (bright red) flag with him? Any feedback or guidance would be very appreciated. https://www.masseurfinder.com/massage-therapists/8123/

Great massage. Great set up. Great guy. And he'll walk you through how to get a covid test.
-
I've had several massages with Artie - I try to do that whenever I'm in London. You all should too...
-
Apparently not until the covid crisis subsides.
-
Oh wow, that wasn't my experience. I've repeated and definitely enjoyed it.
-
I had a great experience with Daymmgood. He did an outcall to my place in SF, with a table, and provided a fantastic massage. He's very fit and extremely personable. I can definitely recommend.

I'd love to hear from you if you've ever met him. Thanks. https://rentmen.eu/Motomaniak
