Completely respect the fact that masseurs are people, too, so I word my messages respectfully. If a masseur requests more info I reply, except for sending a pic. At that point I will tell the masseur I'm in my 50s and indicate I'll have no problem if the masseur prefers not to meet.

I always respond promptly to reasonable requests and ones that indicate the ad has been read. I am always surprised to hear, “Thanks so much for responding”. I thought that was the point-you reach out I respond. Also due to the pg-13ifcation of the remaining sites there definitely had been an uptick in bold questions. Not entirely sure how to feel about this because by entering a masseurs phone number into google you can probably figure out how he works. Also a lot of the work performed is directly related to the clients energy so it is a dificult question to answer. If I believe you’re coming in bad faith or I don’t feel safe you’re not going to get the same massage as an open kind hearted person. Masseurs are people too.

Precisely. Dems are just as likely to push the scarlet letter as much as Republicans. I would not vote for Kamala Harris for dog catcher after what she did to Backpage. On an ironc note most vice officers were against shuttering the site. Now the worst of the worst have gone to the dark web. Well at least Kamala got votes. https://www.google.com/amp/s/techcrunch.com/2018/07/09/indianapolis-vice-cop-says-sesta-fosta-closure-of-backpage-has-blinded-investigators/amp/

Don't ask or worse, demand for tips. A masseur did this to me. Just bad form, gentlemen.

Have someone else smell your sheets and use water dispersable oil. Rancid oil baked into old sheets tends to spoil the mood.

Always post current pics that truly reflects how you look. Even if you have wrinkles and don’t have a six pack that’s ok. Confidence is sexy. And we all like different things.

All good points here. To add:

What you wear matters. You may think that since you’ll be naked and taking your clothes off anyway, that sweats is fine, but it generally isn’t. Look nice when you open the door.

Also confirm rates and amount of time spent before hand. Especially on masseurfinder, Some guys don’t click through to individual profile pages from the city page, and may ask think that your rate for everything is the rate that it says “starting at”. Heck - some don’t look at rates at all before they contact you. Make sure that all expectations are taken care of beforehand.

Be open to accepting different types of payment. Cash, the cash app, Venmo, square, etc - you’ll get asked about them all.

Also make the massage your own / special / unique.

If I can think of anything else I’ll add it, but these are some of my experiences that I’ve learned that haven’t been said already.

I’ve akso learned some things here, so that’s cool.

    Tons of great tips here...

Some masseurs doesn’t know this. As a client your face is down and you have no idea what’s going on inside the room. (Even if you know it’s just the two of you) So try to minimize or if possible have at least one hand always in contact with your client throughout the duration of the massage. It gives a client a sense of security during the massage session.

    Hope this helps...

Couldn’t agree more. I prefer massage cream to avoid an oily mess.
    1. Biotone is the best creme in my experience, makes for best experience overall. Some oil may come in handy towards the end of the session though...
    2. If you only do outcall, keep the client apprised if you are running late. Offer to take a shower when you arrive, a 5 minute cleanup before you begin the session conveys respect (definitely wash your hands at a minimum)
    3. Ask about pressure, trouble spots, music before you begin.
    4. Be truthful in advertising. Under promise, over deliver will gain you recurring visits in my book.
    5. Learn to read the client. Does the client seem comfortable? Does he enjoy conversing with me or is it a distraction? Is the client shivering because he is cold and I need to turn up the heating?
    6. Send a discreet follow up note after the session if you would like the client to become a regular. People want to feel appreciated and if you enjoyed meeting somebody, why not say so.
    7. Never, ever forget about an appointment and tell me you ‘overslept’ So my business means so little to you, you couldn’t even take the time to pencil me into your calendar or set an alarm??
    8. If you want to win a place in my heart, take a shower after the session and invite me to wash your back! (Okay, now I’m definitely pushing the boundaries!)
    9. Be gracious and maintain a sense of humor at all times; unexpected things will happen (client burping). How you react will say more about you than the client.
    10. If you used oil/creme on the client’s feet during the session, always wipe the soles of his feet at the end of the session. Dont risk the client slipping and falling on a tile/wood floor.

Not strict anything;). Life is not black and white. Even if the strict crowd thinks and/or pretends it is. I will always remember my “ethics” teacher in massage school without noticing the rank irony talking about the time her future husband and her met when he walked into her massage studio.

I always have two sheets on the table and I say before the massage “drape for your level of comfort.” Makes for more laundry duty I know. However, as provider it is impingent to give the option. I have found that clients sometimes get on top or underneath depending on their mood. When therapists assume things about client preferences is when you open yourself to trouble. I just do outcalls so the warmth or not is largely dependent on the client. But as a courtesy when I get a hotel call and I see the temp set at 70 I encourage the client to let me turn the heat up because in two decades experience I have found that 70 is the point at which people get cold with a massage. Also just because someone says they are warm with their clothes on does not meant that they will be warm wince the take them off and get moist oil on them.

It is a market. I have always had a keen interest in markets. Personally I drop rates when I want to do more than 5 sessions a week (my general sweet spot.). When I drop rates I end up getting more clients, sometimes more money and always more tired. I have been working for over twenty years and in my current lifestyle changing rates makes a lot of sense. Plus it is fun to watch the market.

Drew you were probably on early morning. They block contact at what could reasonably considered non Massage hours. I have advertised with Masseurfinder since the beginning. It is still a wonderful site and a great tool for masseurs.

@MassageDrew , for a VERY stupid reason, MF erases contact info and map location information between the hours of 12 Midnite to 6 AM. Their LAME reasoning is because they feel that this is when "illicit" activities occur, and to make them seem more "legit" they do not provide contact info during those hours. Try them after 6am and the contact info will be back up.

The site has not been abandoned and is up....running... and fine. 2 tip offs that I see it that way:

    1) I called 2 masseurs I use from MF and both were billed in the past 2 days as they have always been. No break in their billing cycle.

    2) At the top of the Home Page on the right side of MF there are a few links. One says "New". Click on that link and all the Newest Masseurs are listed. You will see they have been signing up masseurs in a steady stream, even as recently as today. LOTS of New Listings since July 1st.

Sounds like a site that has not been "abandoned" Sounds like a site that is up and running.

There are a minority of masseurs who seem to change up their rates for no reason. Whether they are traveling, or believe a special event is coming to town, why alter instead of have a consistent rate? In other words, if you seek a peak rate, why not charge it all the time?
