Definitely a lot to consider. You made some very good points especially about the motivation for getting the card. I already have other Amex cards including the Green Card, the Gold Card, and the Delta Reserve and got bonuses. So my main motivation would be the credits and travel benefits. Still a lot to think about though!

Wow this is a n awesome thread…I just got into the credit card rewards game a few months ago even though I’ve had credit cards for years. I’d be curious to know if anyone has applied for Amex cards even though they’re in pop up jail. I’m an avid traveler and I qualify for the Platinum card but I’m currently in pop up jail. Anyone else just say screw it and got the card without the sign up bonus?

Beyond their advertised name location and their requested rates I keep nothing. Hopefully they do the same for me

I ran across Jack Archer pants in an ad on instagram and took a chance. They’re actually very good and I have several pairs. They definitely fit well and highlight my bulge and my but while still looking professional. They’re more of a summer weight material so I haven’t worn them in the cold yet but I’d definitely recommend them. Customer service is a bit lacking because it’s a small business but I’m definitely satisfied with the purchase

Sounds like you’re blurring the lines between business and what you perceive to be a “relationship”. If you two went on a trip together and you came away feeling like you had a true companion then I’d say he was a a true professional and did his job! Send that message that Apexnomad suggested and call it a day. Not trying to wag my finger because I’ve been right where you are now before. But I had to remind myself that no matter how wonderful and connected a provider made me feel our encounter was still BUSINESS. He’s good at his job if he made you feel that way. Time is money to a provider and whenever you contact them it should be assumed that you are doing so with the intention of hiring…not chit chat.
