Carl Nassib, first openly gay player in NFL, announces retirement.

Trying to figure out how Jerry Smith could have been more out. This is tremendous disrespect to him. -
This was a federal operation of Homeland Security. Their announcement seems gleeful that Texas is the first state to make hiring a felony, but it's Homeland Security going after hiring for sex. SESTA charges coming? Once it becomes federal it's a whole different ballgame. In the CBP cases the agents told people they were face-recognized on Rentmen, an "international sex trafficking site" the federal government was "monitoring closely". Just as with SESTA, in election years like 2024, both government parties will compete to get further to the right on hiring. Be cautious.

Don't ask why.

I assume to set preset preferences for different users. But maybe targeted advertising. would follow.

I personally would hesitate to hire anyone who's clients have not been heard from again since 2021 for several reasons.

Grocery Shopping II: Self check out, like or loath?

Unfortunately I think most stores are hybrid checkout now in regular lines. The cashier rings the items up and tosses them down the belt where you have to scurry to bag them as the next customer's items start coming while also trying to get the damn card to work on tap and finally f++kin inserting the thing with the left hand while packing the heavy stuff on top of the bread with the right hand (as the cashier gives you a surly look to hurry the f up). But you also get the snarly condescending look and comments from the cashier "helping" with 4 self-checkouts if you choose that method of humiliation. -

But in a mostly facial recognition payment system like Just Walk Out you can still have a bank account or debit card for payment that alerts you to spending and balance. Many give awards or there's many 2%-back cards. I just carry 5s. 10s and 20s for tips (very important in life) (plus a quarter in the car for Aldi). -

IDK. I mean I remember what cash is, but I'd imagine anyone who has some of it they need to use would go to customer service to change their payment method for that trip to it or something. You can change your Amazon payment method to a bank account. You can also insert a debit card to enter the store and be responsible for items you take.. But once you get used to shopping without checkouts (including by having deliveries), you appreciate what a pita grocery checkouts are. -

It's so much more fun to stick something in your pocket and walk out. Self checkout vs cashiers is such an a 20-teens debate. Once I got used to Just Walk Out at my Whole Foods and my Fresh it seems inconceivable (for better or worse) that cashiers or self-checkout either is still around. Amazon must want too much for it's patents and that's Amazon's fault for not getting the tech's cost down yet. Facial recognition is cheap and pervasive. But it's pretty much 100% accurate, they credit your entire tab if there is any mistake (almost never) and there's zero shoplifting. It's 2023, let's stop pretending Big Brother doesn't already have a million id checks on each of us and everything we do or say. -
Hilarious that CNN compares Home Depot, Target and Best Buy to a store that sells $20K sofas and $5K coffee tables. Their main store and the owners' condos are just down the street from me in DC and I'll miss gawking at the window price tags going in my Chipotle. Admiration that they could get these prices for so long and feel bad for all the lost jobs in NC.

i got all excited thinking this was Brian Austin from Active Duty. I'd hitchhike to NC for him. (not that this one's not fine too)

sorry sir, $350 is more than a third a month's rent out there. my sincere apologies.

I know nothing is supposed to matter except the major urban centers where the 10% elite mostly live, but I'll stick to my assertion that rates are lower out where people the obnoxious elites call trailer park trash live. Some of the best looking and sexiest guys "available" are out in Roanoke, Virginia, Martinsburg, West Virginia, Hagerstown, Maryland, Birmingham, Alabama, Gulfport and Jackson, Mississippi, Lubbock and Waco Texas, etc. And the word is Oklahoma City is the new gay heaven. $350 is half a month's rent out there and southern and midwestern towns have gays bars where the known G4P's frequent or at least are well known in the bars. I'm sure $200 will get you your pick of the shirtless guys around the pool table at the Quest in Birmingham or hanging outside the gay bars on Salem Av in Roanoke. In our age of entitlement many have forgotten it's not what you think you're worth but what the market will bear. The sex market is absolutely pure free market here or in China. And in markets anywhere if gay men don't have $350 to spend easily on sex, the rates of those successful in those markets is going to be what the market will bear. Not everyone is mobile or free enough to work the circuit of cities where the wealthier live.

Laurel is where Fort Meade is. His room has a twin bed or beds. Area code 803 is Columbia, South Carolina so maybe the $160 was the rate there a year ago. His 3 reviews are from a year ago so not a new account, just rarely used. With facial recognition in now I expect few faces on smart guys. I'd get a bod pic with a 3-finger photo. edit: when I opened the RM ad he had Laurel as his location in the description.

I go almost daily to Trader Joes by my house and it's amazing how many checkers they have (and no scanners). Really too many employees in such a small store. And i read because of their labor intensity their prices have shot up 20% the past year. I enjoy the convenience of a skilled checker but I also liked my Snickerdoodles being $2.99 instead of $3.99. Maybe stores should charge people who want someone to check their items for them a 10% fee or something. Better yet go to the Amazon Go/Fresh Just-Walk-Out model where there's zero theft and no scanners or cashiers. That's the future.
