For many years I drove to the University of Maryland in Baltimore dental graduate school. It's the Johns Hopkins of dental schools and America's oldest. It's fees are "market" but reasonable. There was no up-sell, so I know my true needs. The periodontist were excellent. I had United Concordia but gradually they got stingy with what they would pay for in implants. Because I got tired of the hour drive, I recently transferred to a highly-recommended periodontal clinic by my house. At their suggestion, I changed in open season to Metropolitan because "we get lots of money out of them". I've seen what they gouge the insurance companies for. Sadly, getting coverage is more important than what the fees are. America.

I think they'll be back soon enough. I see them in Prague March 13 to 20 also. Poor babies are on an 8-hour flight to Vienna, then a 3 hour wait tomorrow for a 4 hour bus trip to their hometown. They did exceptionally well in all ways. Their 2nd home now.

I haven't been there in over a year I live in DC. It seems like whenever I go there's different ones open or closed. But usually there's at least one open. If there's no official gay bar open now there's always the WalMart....my favorite anyway.

a quick reply on DC- Dupont didn't get gay bars until much later than Georgetown and Capitol Hill although Annie's Steak House has been here forever. I was often at the Plus One across from Barracks Row, the first major gay dance bar in DC in the early '70's, where Jerry Smith, the Redskins' tightest end, also hung out. In high school I would sneak into Mr. Henry's Georgetown daily (drinking age was 18 and it was a cafe) in the late '60's. Louis leather bar was on 9th NW at Penn and Naples was a gay hustler bar/hotel next to the Trailways bus station where many Marines waiting for the Camp LeJeune bus would come for extra cash/and or booze. It was glorious. Quantico outside DC is ok. I've met a few (too young) Marines driving into the little town at the entrance in a rented convertible. The Marine Barracks on 8th NE in DC is legendary. The block of stores across from the barracks. (There used to be gay bars there !). Also check bus stations with Marine buses. DC has a Greyhound to Camp LeJeune that was always a sure thing. Marines are the surest bets.

I think the thing is it's not "acting" gay for pay; it's gay for pay. The more you get into it the more successful you are. After a couple years it becomes your natural condition, even if it wasn't your original preference. All bets off with cocaine though.
