How about when non-essential businesses are re-opened and legally allowed to operate? Feel like this is a common sense question and people are just looking for reasons to justify seeing a masseur. Just STAY HOME. It’s not that difficult.

One of the things that will make things "safe" moving forward will be improved treatment protocols. From what I understand, the treatment protocols are being adjusted on a daily (hourly) basis as they understand more and more about the way the virus works.

One of the anecdotes I read was that a typical flu-like protocol they were using was actually (counter intuitively) causing issues in patients that had already gone pneumonic. So they have started to investigate this protocol. Another anecdote was based on the anti-inflammatory response to steroids and the cause of the inflammation.
 
(I highlight anecdote because it is just that at this point. An single point of data which has not be tested or vetted properly yet.)
 
This doesn't mean you won't be able to get it, it means that the treatment you receive for it is constantly improving. Ideally we get an effective vaccine and we don't need to worry about the treatment -- but a vaccine will take time, even when fast tracked by the FDA.
 
All that being said, I am beginning to think it is will be a long time until massage activities resume for me.

For me it will be when the rate of new infections has gotten low enough, so that even if I were to get it (or transmit it) from any circumstance - whether a massage, or out to dinner, etc - I would not pose a risk of over-burdening the health-care system if I happened to be in the small minority of people who require hospitalization. We're not close to that point yet - if we're lucky, maybe in 6-8 weeks?

Absolutely. It isn’t just about us, it’s about spreading a virus potentially exponentially that can have terrible impact upon our elderly loved ones and friends weakened by other illnesses. Much as I recently was tempted to hire, after thinking about the possibility of causing those in my circle of loved ones with weaker health potential problems should I somehow Inadvertently spread this virus to them, it was easy to commit to taking a break.

Quite a few guys on RM have posted that they are pausing massages for the foreseeable future. Yesterday I spent some time reading through some blogs. A couple of them are even a little heartbreaking. I applaud them, especially the guys who only have massage as their sole source of income. I can't help but think I'm more likely to book with one of these guys in the future once things get back to normal, especially if it comes to booking someone regularly. Good character goes a long way in my book.

Many people are struggling with thoughts of having no income. If lack of money is haunting people right now, they may not have the self-control needed to say no to customers. This is not the time to choose money over health. Meeting with strangers and performing close contact service is extremely dangerous to both parties. One simple look at how hospital workers are dressing to protect themselves, those who have proper supplies, should convince everyone that avoiding infection is the only way out of this mess.
