I don't think I've ever heard of someone flying across the globe just to accrue miles with an airline or flying to Belgium to purchase chocolates! I can understand why you drifted apart. But as we get older especially, it's nice to have a friend to do and share things with. I would take it for what it's worth, enjoy some meet ups together without any expectations.
