It's related to crime in the area. Some areas worse than others. Look at yesterday when a mentally deranged homeless guy went on a hunting spree to kill innocent people. He killed 3 people, stabbing them to death with a big butcher's knife! A taxi driver saw him walking the streets holding the knives with the blood of those he butchered dripping off the knives! He flagged down a policeman and he was caught. A 36 yr old construction worker in Chelsea, a 68 yr old man fishing on the east river on a lovely fall day and a 36 yr old woman near the UN all lost their lives yesterday. The murderer had 8 priors in various states and was just let out of jail in October! I've lived in NYC all my life and now fearful of getting on the subway or comfortably walking around.
