One time outside the grocery store I frequent there was a woman with a child setting on the sidewalk with a container for money. That really angered me. I saw it as a form of child abuse, exploitation. I complained about it inside the store. Back home I called the Department of Social Services and reported it. Some friends thought I did wrong. In fact no one agreed with what I did. But I still think I did the right thing. I never saw them there again.

I've had it for 20+ years. I did not like delivery services (UPS and FedEx) leaving packages by the door or with a neighbor. The Post Office will not sign for packages. I once subscribed to the Advocate and had other "gay" mail; I had a mailman who would try to share his born-again faith with me. Both parents died many years ago.

When I was a boy I and a female cousin my age would spend Summers with our grandmother. We walked to the public pool. And she'd take us camping for our month along with a neighbor woman and her two grandchildren - siblings, a boy and girl - our age.

There is a taxi service here that will pick-up the groceries and deliver them to one's home. But the grocery store I frequent is in the same shopping center where the UPS store is where I get my mail. So I can do two tasks with the same trip. I only pick up my mail 2 or 3 times per month.
