I think you are moving in the right direction. I think as you adapt based on feedback that you will eventually have a good product for marketing. Like any new business you need to adapt and change and make a niche for yourself that bests the existing products.

I assume it is an Startup. They will eventually offer some sort of service for cost but they need to fine tune their marketing to deliver a product for which others will pay. Until they feel comfortable that their goals can be met, they will probably remain free. This makes good business sense to me. Hell, I would like to be one of their secret shoppers.
