1. I have not checked his MF ad, I actually pulled up his rentmasseur ad. It's been a while - when last I went downtown to see him he was on 14th street and 7th ave if my memory serves me (that is where MF puts him - I just checked). He was renting space down there.
2. Lower manhattan/Tribeca
3. Have you considered Cal? Too far downtown for you? https://rentmasseur.com/iamyourguy
4. Creative! Love it!!
5. Tim definitely has his fans here on the forum. I have seen him a few times and have no regrets. There just came a point where he was too busy and we could never find a time that worked for both of us, so I moved on (I am also quite busy, so it is on me as well, I just do not have a lot of flexibility in my calendar). In my case, he did a pretty good job with a full body massage, front and back - well worth a visit. He is not a talker, but is fine with conversing if you want. He is in good shape, clearly takes care of himself. You can will be happy in the end. Nice guy overall.
6. I’ve been thinking about going, but it is pretty tough to get out there if you live in NYC and don’t have a car. Never been to a Renaissance Faire but it looks like a lot of fun!
7. Clearly it is time to have my eyes checked!
8. I am looking over this new listing and it occurred to me that there are 3 different pictures...and each is a picture of a different guy??? Caveat emptor. But now I am curious to know which of the 3 guys will actually answer the door! https://www.masseurfinder.com/massage-therapists/35956/
9. Used to go by ‘DanielPR’ in NYC, if memory serves. Old profiles deleted, I checked, but you can run a search here. Mixed bag of comments, from what I remember there were some comments about upselling. He was also known for providing ‘full service’ if you desired.
10. I am pretty sure that this would not be my preferred way of getting engaged...but you do you.
11. Fashion, food, furnishings and fucking.
12. Your post reminded me of this clip - a little old but funny!!
13. I guess that makes me a slut! Not necessarily a bad thing...
14. I've considered him a few times, just my type, but can't get over the sticker shock. Out of my price range for a massage... (I know, I'm a cheap bastard! )
15. It really depends on whether you are talking an actual paper copy or the digital version (or both)! I get the paper version of the “failing New York Times” - $65 a month for a daily paper (Monday to Sunday). That also gets you online/digital access (handy when I am traveling). Online/digital only with no physical paper at your door is $16 a month. I have no idea what they would charge at a newsstand... I believe there is a suggested price listed on the front page but I dont have mine handy to check.
16. He does not. You have a suspicious mind sir! (And I like that!!)
17. I am quoting from the TV show Queer as Folk: “Hi, I’m Emmett Honeycutt, your Queer Guy and certified member of the four-F club. That’s fashion, food, furnishings and…hehe we’ll save the last F for cable.”
18. Your candor is appreciated!
19. I agree with your supposition. For me, it’s not really about making sure they look prestine, but rather making sure they don’t look or feel worn out...
20. If you are suggesting that in my first go round I focused too much on price, appearance and utility, you are absolutely correct!!
21. Well, the lamp shades are linen so I am not surprised that they need to be replaced. Leather couch gets a lot of ... well ass traffic - very comfortable.
22. Brave man! Not sure I am ready to admit that I am old enough to be a masseur’s father!
23. My expectations are pretty much on par with what @7829V outlined. Even when you ask the masseur (and you can and should ask what he offers) your mileage may vary. This is one of the reasons why it is so difficult for me to recommend a masseur - I can never be sure my experience will be your experience... If I ‘recommend’, then I am pretty sure. If I indicate ‘satisfactory’ then I had a good experience, but not sure it will be the same for everyone.
24. I was talking with a buddy yesterday, about replacing some of my home furnishings (mattress no longer in prime condition, leather couch showing its age, floor lamps starting to look ratty) and he mentioned the “10 year rule”. Apparently there is a rule that most soft furnishings need to be replaced about every 10 years, you should not expect their lifespan to exceed that... As gay men are considered experts when it comes to the 4 F’s, I figured this is the right crowd to ask: is that really a rule or did he just make it up?
25. Tough one, not exactly something they would disclose in their profile...
