I still remember turning on the TV that morning, hearing Roy Orbison had died.
 
I drove all night released first by Cyndi Lauper,
worthy effort for sure, but Orbison owned it, didn't he? There are several Orbison versions on YouTube.

I know that Dietrich sang "Where Have All The Flowers Gone" in German in Israel. But, it must not be available on YouTube. She was told specifically not to sing in German, but Dietrich went ahead anyway with not one, but seven or eight songs in German.

Linda Eder is AMAZING. I love her on the Jekyll and Hyde cast recording. I can do without Sarah Brightman...

She's like Streisand... If Streisand could still hit these notes squarely.
 
Eder is a nice example of a singer who has taken very good care of her instrument, allowing her to still hit these incredible notes with impressive control.

The original was by a straight dude, asked to contribute a song for an LGBT cause. It recently was used for a short animation that ended up screening at Outfest this year. Lot of wet eyes in the theater.

Was doing some research on 1960s UK and ran across Donovan. Amazing stuff. Then found this cover by Earth Kitt. I was impressed.

Love his smile, and other things.....

I saw it at OutFest couple of years ago. Quite an emotional watch.

The Richie fans were delighted of course. The Kevin/Patrick part of the movie was superb.
 
I own the DVDs, S1, S2 and the movie. I was so impressed how the creators wrapped up Kevin and Patrick. They really gave that piece its due. IMO couldn't have been better. I guess I'm slanted, but I thought Tovey deserved an Emmy nomination for this.

Perfect companion on a Saturday morning...

DITTO! I always hated the pre-ven-ta-tive word! Prevention was something quite important in my line of work and we always took pre-ven-tive measures. Then they suddenly added an extra syllable!!! For what reason I'll never know! It always made the word seem redundant as in too much of a good thing to me, but such is "progress"! Or is that progression... no that's music as in harmonic progressions... but give it time...

Using preventative when preventive was the original adjective drives me nuts.


Are you taking any preventative measures to avoid performance gaps?
We say corrective action, and so we also say preventive action, not preventative action. But with increased usage, preventative has becoming an accepted adjective.
