  1. @OCClient and @OneFinger, I am this close to just driving to La Jolla to catch this movie earlier...please let us know how it was!

Something to whet all our appetites some more.

The theater is 80 miles from my house, but it's a favorite drive. How far are you @LoveNDino? I just finished my 2nd read of the book and wonder how the movie can be as good as the book, but apparently it is a must see movie. I'm too anxious to wait until end of November.

If it wins best feature, they'll show it again Sunday pm

  2. I did not have sex with that woman! ;)

Well I guess I'll count sitting on the couch in his dorm room, lights off. I was his pal. Watching TV with the lights off, he'd curled up to recline so I eased his legs over, stretching his legs out onto my lap. I was in lust with him, but I loved him too, his prince valiant looks. Starting to pet his legs, and continued stroking up to his thighs. He had gym shorts on and a jock. My hand had a mind of it's own and soon found it's way further and further until eventually I reached his velvety smooth skin of his beautiful rump. I enjoyed that real estate for a while but finally continued on to his cock, brushing against it through the pouch of his jock. In the dim light of that little TV I saw his eyelids open and look at me. Then I stopped. I wish he would have reached for my hand and brought it back to him. A few years later he wanted to re-enact that night on the couch in his basement, but I was in a different place and was done playing with straight guys.

  3. I was disappointed to see it was general admission, too. I also plan on lining up early. Maybe we'll run into each other. Always fun to meet other people that post here.

Are you from around there OneFinger? Looks like the theater is at a mall. I attended the Burbank Film Festival last year, also at a mall. Was fun. Arclight has no bad seats, except I try to avoid down front.

  4. that FIXER UPPER will be ending after its upcoming 5th season on HGTV?

I've never watched the show. I have heard that no gay couples have ever been featured & that Chip & Joanna are uber-religious, part of the reason I've never had any interest.

All I know is that I'm still reeling and trying to recover from the heartbreaking news that Tarek & Christina El-Moussa are divorcing. My faith in love has been destroyed!!! I'm trying to put on a brave face and move forward in my life.

I'm not interested in watching a conservative, Baptist happy couple from Waco, and their ilk. I'm not even judging. It's just that I find difficult enjoying folks who consider me a problem or a zoo animal, etc.

I was quite sorry about Tarek and Christina. Tarek is hot and they do houses all around where I live so it strikes a chord with me. Love that show.

  5. The latest massage at my chiropractor was with a male therapist. Most of the therapists are women. I had tried this particular male therapist before, but when I tried to reschedule him he had moved on. Lately he showed up again so jumped at the chance. He was so soothing. A serene, masculine young man. Nice body. Not super muscular. Just strong and lean. His skills had improved so much, and I do need that kind of healing massage. At one point he was standing at the end of the table behind my head, manipulating my shoulders and arms. He leaned across my body and his firm flat stomach leaned against my face. Felt nice. I'd never had one of the therapists lean into me like that. Maybe it was unintentional and meant nothing, but I liked and hope it happens again. I'd like to find out if he offers massage outside the clinic but worry the question would seem inappropriate. For now, I enjoy thinking about how nice my sultry, strong, lean therapist made me feel. Look forward to his soothing hands on again.

  6. If you like rolling hills, lakes, a vibrant gay/ arts community, fishing/ hiking and don't mind be nestled inside such a safe bubble surrounded by conservatives, I would suggest giving Eureka Springs, AR a gander.

Ah! Glad you mentioned Eureka Springs. Heard about it and would like to visit there. I've heard similar good comments about Asheville, NC.

I love Palm Springs but the hot weather in the summer worries me as did the icy weather of the great white north when I lived in the upper Midwest. I agree with jjkrkwood that being set in our ways, staying put can make a lot of sense. One can always travel, which is what so many retirees do right?

  7. I'm not sure about your math, but I was never that good at statistics in the first place.

I'm more interested in the concept that gay men's facial features have been somewhat feminized due to genetics or biology. I will admit that it feeds into a fundamental belief that I have, not priven by science (yet), that gay men are born gay due to genetics and or hormones while in the womb. Then they are socialized in different ways that determine whether they act out on their natural orientation.

We have all seen men that you can tell are gay just by looking at them. And I'm talking just about their features not because of mannerisms or having the current trendy gay haircut, etc. I think it's easier to see in teenagers before they have had a chance to hyper-masculinize with muscles, steroids and facial hair.

However, I don't think that 81% of the gay men I know fall into this category. So the fact that AI can detect something better than the naked eye is pretty impressive.

I agree, hormones play a critical role where they are a factor in the outcome of an expected chain of events, and that outcome clearly varies, in a number of categories you could say. The outcome of a certain gay look can only be a sort of covariate to same sex attraction IMO. It's all very interesting. How we are socialized affects behavior, of course, but I doubt it is a significant factor in driving ones attraction to the same sex. Sometimes one doesn't need a Stanford Gaydar to tell, when a certain kind of fellow creates such an amazing gay construct, as if he's on stage 24/7.

  8. I'm not so sure about avoiding "people food".

I had a grey wolf named Nanook. He lived to be 22yrs of age. He died a natural, unassisted death of old age and, during his lifetime, never had any health issues other than scuffs and scratches~ He had some arthritis that I tested with one baby aspirin per day~

His teeth were sound and white up until the last year of his life~

I fed him three cooked meals per day of rice and a ground cooked protein, (chicken breast shredded, lean ground beef, turkey breast and/or buffalo, sometimes cooked tuna steaks)... his favorite snacks were Swiss cheese and black licorice~

The only vegetables he ate/liked were forest grass and a certain type of grass that grew in the yard. He was selective for a certain type of grass~

He had a kibble but, it was grain free and

"animal-by-product" free with no ingredients from china~

Daily he had what I called "beef dinner for dogs" and that consisted of a large, meaty "bone in" beef shank with marrow~

The raw meat brings up an enzyme from canines stomachs that keeps their teeth clean and significantly reduces tarter build up~

I never gave him, (or any of my fuzzy buddies), raw or cooked bones or raw meat from chicken, rabbit, pork or fish... Beef and buffalo only~ Skin, meat and marrow... not just a bunch of fat~ He cleaned the bones spotless but, never "chewed" them up~ Same with my other canines~

I've used that regime with all of my fuzzy buds and they all seem to do very well on it with minimal health care issues~ I've never had a buddy die of cancer or diabetes... most of them live into their twenties~ I've had good success~

It's not exactly a "cheap" diet but, neither is health care, dental care or medications... and I value the longevity factor~

    Also... daily fresh clean water~

One other side note: while traveling, I would Precook his three daily meals, bag them, flatten the bag and freeze them~ (easy freezer storage and quick to thaw when pressed flat before freezing).

I expect my vet had seen a lot so was being cautious. I remember a neighbor that always scraped the table food into the dog dish and one night it turned out terribly.

  9. I'm not saying y'all are wrong. But y'all are making assumptions the way that a lot of straight guys would about every gay men. Does every time we hug another guy have to have something sexual involved? If we knew that Andy were straight, we'd just say they were bros. I mean Mr. Recker doesn't look that put out by it. It might be something he even expects from publicity shots.

    Gman

Good point. There's no gain projecting too much into it. :)
