working in a city with very low competition
+ VictorPowers replied to redites's topic in Questions About Hiring
That is exactly the reason Utah isn’t great. There isn’t a hiring culture here. On paper SLC should be amazing. Large population and rapidly growing, big airport, expanding light rail, cheap hotel rates, most residents own a car, great economy.. -
You do hold the record for furthest distance traveled.

Would we have you any other way?

I’m bringing 2 years of accounting data and tax returns for you to review ? Get ready to work! In all seriousness, I have enjoyed interacting with you here and I look forward to meeting you.

I have taken on a new client recently. I’ll call him Mr. Q. For our very first meeting, we booked 3 hours. This man proceeds to tell me he drove 3.5 Hours one way to meet me. Mr. Q. Was on time and in the lobby 10 Mins. Before our scheduled time. He was a true gentleman and our session went well. Fast forward 30+ days later. We set another meeting. This time he drove 5.5 Hours one way. Fortunately he was spending the night in the city I was in and drove back the following day. Meeting Mr. Q has put some things into perspective for me. This gentleman literally will walk 500 miles then walk 500 more just to be the man that walked 1,000 miles to fall down at my door.

“Sorry to have disturbed you” - PART TWO
+ VictorPowers replied to Dave's topic in Questions About Hiring
I’m pleased that he was professional in how he told you kindly to F off. I tell people that working guys have check boxes. Good and bad. Once everything is reviewed, that’s when we decide to go ahead and meet or not. In the end it’s all mitigating risk. I posted a very lengthy reply in Part I that I’d encourage everyone to read. -
“Sorry to have disturbed you” - PART ONE
+ VictorPowers replied to Dave's topic in Questions About Hiring
@Mikegaite +1! @Dave Thank You! I have decoded the messages and have placed measures to avoid this guy. I have lists of multiple screen names, emails, and phone numbers as well. I too received a 1 Star and was lucky in its removal. As working guys, we do this long enough to know the general flow of hiring and inquiring. So much so, that this person is sniffed out immediately. My solution? Hold my head high and keep moving forward and providing attention for the clients that care. You Mister Anon? I don’t get upset. I do not get mad. Your “sleuthing” about with dozens of accounts and emails must be exhausting. Meanwhile you waste maybe 2 minutes if my time and I have forgotten about you. I hope you are satisfied and content with what you do. I’d encourage your efforts not be wasted on us. You are attempting to disturb a business in which our guards are up 24/7. Every message is analyzed. Every response is compared. You are being bested at your own game. Every. Single. Time. Good luck to you. I look forward to our meeting..sorry we missed each other. -
Wait. Not.. Love? I’m conducting my business incorrectly with unhealthy love affairs with all clients..

A question I have would be... Are you constantly on the hunt for visitors in Detroit? -
Communication & Respect on both sides

Communication & Respect on both sides
+ VictorPowers replied to BrianStrowkes's topic in Questions About Hiring
I agree with the being understanding on both sides. Cancellations do happen for us, maybe not as often but tis’ the truth. May I ask why you didn’t consider an Uber/Lyft so you’d at least still be able to meet said client? -

Well it’d either go very well or quite the opposite. I have branched out into mid sized cities and it’s proven fruitful. Every provider is different and market unique. It’s tough to know unless you give it a try. I’d throw an ad up 30+ days in advance. Schedule a flexible hotel rate and wait. If you receive some solid interest and/or pre bookings, purchase flights or arrange other means of transportation. If you’re feeling it won’t be profitable, listen to your gut and cancel the hotel and ad for the city. -

It was a pleasure to meet some new and familiar faces. My travel schedule didn’t allow me to attend everything, but a quick stop over at the Hyatt was pleasant. As always, it was a pleasure to see you @ArVaGuy and I thank you for coordinating the madness. Everyone please travel safe and stay WARM out there! @Ace Stay Sexy -
Ah @Kevin Slater you were praised the other day by a client talking about your data. Always a good icebreaker and turn on! Lol

I made a post awhile ago concerning my reaction. It appears I have developed an alcohol intolerance to certain types of alcohol. Beer and wine = safe.

Hello DC gathering attendees. I booked my stay in DC 1/20-22. I’ll attend any get together on the 20th and am happy to meet any stragglers on the days that follow. -
I just booked my stay at CC 4/12-14. I only wanted 2 or 3 nights at InnDulge, but since it’s Coachella time, they had a 4 night minimum. See you all then!
