  1. I have a Gucci wallet my mother bought for me in Italy, years ago. I keep it in my left back pocket, but if I'm travelling, it goes in my left front pocket. In it is my drivers license, AmEx card, Mastercard, ATM cards, library card, Target debit card, health/dental insurance card, business cards and about $100 in cash.

  2. This is what I do as a client. I only hire off of RM. I check the provider's ad to see when the last time they were on RM. If it shows he checked his account within the last 24-48 hours, that tells me he is serious about his business and checks his account regularly for new business (I see accounts that haven't been checked in weeks). Then, I email (!) him one or two complete sentences stating he has a nice ad and that I'll be in his city on certain dates, will he be available? Then I wait. If I get back a friendly, warm, response, then we're off to the races. At that point I share my phone number and we text from there on out. If I get a one word answer or no answer, it's a turn off and I move on.

  3. Getting back to tipping, and bare in mind I'm a client too, so I'd say that no tip is required. It sounds like you have an ongoing relationship which means you've been paying him along the way. Also, for a weekend (whether one day or two), you also have to pay for not only his time but his travel expenses, food, incidentals, etc. If you feel compelled to tip him, wait for his birthday or Christmas.
