Well, a tragedy has a few meanings, one of which is "an event resulting in great loss and misfortune." Although he may have always known that he was going to die (as did we) his death is a loss - or at least it is for me. He was one of the greats of film and theater. I just feel that way.

I loved him in the movie Boundaries in 2018 and of course in The Sound of Music. He also was in Beginners where he played a museum director who comes out after 44 ears of being married. He and his son enter a new relationship on his coming out. Plummer won a supporting actor Oscar for this role.
