I have seen Benyou twice - once in Provincetown (July 2025) and once in Boston (August 2026). The first one was Ben alone for 90 minutes. The second was with his partner, Sam, for 4-handed, 60-minute session. If you're a fan of "tall, dark, and handsome", don't miss these guys. Since they are based in LA, my only option is to see them when they visit the east coast. If we were closer, I'd be a regular.

I watched a video last night advocating exactly that. Once your portfolio is "enough" (which is not easy to calculate, but it's just math), redirect retirement savings to spending. The transition to spending on things like travel or long-delayed home projects, or other "someday" items, is less stressful if you do them while still drawing a paycheck. In that situation, you're not jeopardizing any part of your portfolio. My retirement planning didn't allow for that. My plan was to work until age 70 after hitting The Number. However, the stress became overwhelming a few months before I turned 66. I looked at my portfolio on Saturday, spoke to my financial dudes early Monday morning (confirming my assessment), said "FUCK IT!", got my boss on the phone and resigned. I was short of The Number, but it was still do-able. I've been lucky. You know that old adage, "A rising tide raises all boats"? Two years in, I've not only blasted past The Number, my portfolio is growing faster than I can spend it. I plan to take a few major trips over the next three or four years mostly because I can.

There's a phenomenon where people who've done a good job saving and building a robust portfolio underspend significantly during their retirements, ending up dying with more money than they had at retirement. This can lead to regret over what they didn't do when they could. Things like travel, helping family members...or (in my case) indulging hobbies and treating yourself to various fun experiences (detailed elsewhere on here). You can find dozens of YouTube videos about the challenges of switching from "saving" mentality to "spending" mentality after retirement. I've been retired for two years (and three days🤩) and I think I'm getting there. To paraphrase one such presenter, I don't want to be the richest guy in the cemetery! Recent years have been very kind to those invested in the stock market. Unless things go badly south, I anticipate I'll continue my monthly visits for a 4-hand massage from a couple of local guys, supplemented by additional sessions from time to time with visitors to my area.

I'm 5'7" and STRONGLY prefer taller men. My first partner was 6' 5" and that was a huge turn-on for me. When hiring I generally go for taller, muscular guys. Tall is a preference, not a requirement. I used to see a guy who was a wrestler / martial artist / Strongman competitor as well as a masseur. He was 6' 2" and kinda my ultimate wet dream fantasy. Sadly, he retired. I met him recently. Total ripoff. He must be bulking 'cuz there was a lot more to him than what's in either of the ads. The massage was perfunctory at best. Agreed session was an hour. Initial small talk, undressing, massage, dressing all done in less than 30 minutes.

Interesting angle. My MENtal Health (love that term!) spending is typically a bit more than 3% of my monthly income. Annualized, though, it's less than a quarter of a percent of my net worth, so I guess it's sustainable. Besides, spending that money helps me manage the stresses that accompany the career that provides the current monthly income and accumulation of that net worth. I spend far more on far stupider things. 🙂

Back to not working in Chrome but working fine in Edge. Maybe I'll just use Edge for this site while I investigate further, using your suggestions.

My default browser is Chrome, so I tried Edge. The first couple of forums I marked as read worked fine in Edge. I went back to Chrome and was able to successfully mark a couple of other forums as read. Not sure what fixed what, but I'll be curious to see how things go on my next visit with Chrome.

Is anyone else having trouble with the site? When I try to mark a forum or the site as "Read", I get an error message.

My mother and two close friends of mine died at age 53. That taught me to have a good time along the way. I should be able to retire comfortably around 66 to 68. If I didn't do some of the things I'd done, it might have been sooner, but I've had a blast doing things that made me happy....for example, graduating from one nice car to two nice cars to three.

I had him to my home several months ago. Lots of drama arranging transportation. He either didn't have a vehicle or couldn't drive so I had to figure out where his "friend" could wait. The session was barely adequate. He was in and out in under 40 minutes. Steer clear.

I'll chime in with another "sensory overload" comment. I haven't had many 4-handed massages. Still, the few times I've done it, I discovered that I prefer just one masseur so I can focus on enjoying what's happening. For me, I didn't like having to split my attention to two areas.

Met him today. The massage was adequate, but only 45 minutes. He's well-equipped, but I don't think he's as gifted as his ad claims. (Full disclosure -- I was not carrying a ruler!) It wasn't a disaster, but I would probably not see him again.
