A reasonable guess, but I don't think it's a military physical, @Danny-Darko. Below is an uncropped version of the same (LIFE magazine) photograph. The Detroit Lions trunk on the right makes me think this is a shot of a Lions player weighing in at training camp... ... but I haven't been able to ID the player (anyone recognize him?) or the issue of LIFE in which this image appeared.
