  1. The snopes article doesn't reference the same study done by the "fragrance institute" or whatever the place sited in the new article (via queerty). I haven't evaluated the study for scientific rigor so I can't speak to it. That said, I did enjoy creating some click bait (just like the queerty article).

P.S. I've always thought beard hygiene was poor in most men.

  2. -1. Has gone off the deep end with conspiracy theories, severe mood swings (pretty bipolar), and makes you feel unsafe. A true shame considering where things were before.

    PM if you want specifics.

  3. @Rudynate Baja California has started to transform into expat beach communities. I've been mulling leasing some beachfront property for about 1/10th the price of CA beach front property (can't buy, they only provide leases). If you check Airbnb, there are a lot of great options over there. If you travel a bit further south, you can run into BC's budding wine region.

@GregM Sorry to hijack your thread. That said, TJ isn't what it used to be. It does have a few cool breweries.

I've been to Border Psycho. Interesting to see the craft brewing (IPA craze) hop across the border.

  4. Native San Diegan here. The purpose of San Diego is to slow down and relax. Seems like everyone has covered the basics. Here are a few random recommendations...

    - Catch the water ferry from downtown San Diego to Coronado. Time it so that you catch the sunset as you head to Coronado and then when you return to San Diego enjoy the night skyline (summer time slightly complicates the schedule since the sun sets so late and the ferry only runs until 9 or 10). https://www.flagshipsd.com/sites/default/files/userfiles/files/ferry-schedule.pdf

    - Hike Torrey Pines State Reserve including the fun little jaunt down to Black's Beach (nude beach).

    or

    - (same area) if the winds are cooperating, take a tandem paragliding ride! (not cheap). One of the best areas in Southern California for this type of stuff.

    - TJ is only good if you know the cool "trendy" spots that have opened up lately. Last time, I spent 6 hrs at the border crossing to get back to the US. That said, you can find some good eats, "local craft beers," and cheap OTC viagra (even at the Costco!). If you want a taste of TJ without going all the way down to TJ, you can get some street tacos at "Tacos El Gordo" (http://tacoselgordobc.com/locations/) or some homestyle Mexican at "Super Cocina" (http://supercocinasd.com/).

    Enjoy your stay!
