Everybody makes mistakes, the point is to avoid repeating them as we move forward. So, thank you @BeefyDude for sharing a story that should serve as a valuable lesson to all of us. I think one universal rule we can agree on is to NEVER-EVER PAY A DEPOSIT FOR A MASSAGE, no matter how small. Personally, I will not hire masseurs for which I hear that they require payment upfront either. Or those who aggressively shortchange their clients on time. It takes some practice, but don't allow your smaller head to take over. Besides, those pix on rentmasseur that got you going are probably outdated anyway. I feel sorry for the newbies who are unaware of this site.

I tried it and felt sensory overload. Plus I didn't like the 3-way dynamics, so I never went back. I feel that 1-on-1 is a more calming and intimate experience. Plus you can get (almost) two massages for the price of one 4-handed, which I find inferior as experience anyway. Of course, just my humble opinion.

Definitely one of the most skilled masseurs out there, that special top 1% and joins my all time favorites. Very articulate and friendly too. I asked for erotic, and he mixed in sensual elements and did my glutes with gusto, which is a must for me. I also love it that he got naked during the massage without me asking. I wasn't grabby while face down, the touching intensified once I turned over, nothing sexual but very sensual, just the way I like it. Add to that very favorable pricing for 90 minutes, and it's a clear repeat whenever I get a chance. The only negative is that he has put on a couple of pounds, but he is still very handsome in my book.

I'll repeat what I said before and add a couple of points that I didn't bother to talk about back then: "Nice and friendly dude but that's it. Not as good looking as the pix would suggest, and not in great shape. Massage skills sub-par because he has another job. Upcharge for a nude massage with mt but not worth it, a clear non-repeat for me... 😞 " There was avoidance of MT, even though massaging you on a hotel bed is inherently favorable to it while making the massage part worse. It wasn't like I was too eager to touch him either because he didn't look that great, nor was there good chemistry, it was just that tension that you feel when the masseur doesn't really want it to happen, yet wants the money. So it was a lose-lose overall, meh massage, no sensuality, tension rather than relaxation. I didn't like the "I live in NYC" attitude either, which made the feeling even worse, I caught him in Indianapolis where we happened to overlap. A clear no repeat for me.

Thanks! You just confirmed my suspicions. The ad says he is 40 which probably means he is closer to 50, yet the pix are of someone in their 30s or even younger. Plus the rambling, overly explicit, and likely over-promising text of the ad, a big red flag. Another personal turnoff for me is when a masseur mentions muscle worship. A likely sign of narcissism and desire to be admired, no thanks.

This reminds me of the Murray Hill Gang, a group that happened to be Russian/Eastern European. Like this one, that name stuck for whatever reason, and I am tired of seeing racism or whatever in everything. Pointing out that there is a scam originating from some people of a particular ethnicity or race does not automatically accuse that entire group or race. Obviously! It is so frustrating to go through the trouble of texting back and forth to make an appointment, then be excited about it, only to realize that it was all a total waste of time and money. That could be, but my sense is that trucks & drivers are too expensive to sit around for 4 days without making any money for the company. Plus whatever needs to be delivered is needed at the final destination, so it doesn't make sense for it to sit in Flagstaff, AZ for 4 days.

Sorry to be a downer, but I am a little skeptical when I see an uber-hot guy with model's pix with sensible pricing schedule 4 days in Amarillo and Flagstaff.

The "ask" is the worst when they expect you to text them and are unwilling to answer messages on rentmasseur. I do masseur searches on my computer and don't find it taxing to send a note to someone asking how much they charge for different types of massage for 60 and 90 minutes and where about they are located. If I get a sensible answer to all my questions, I'll take it further. It amazes me how many will answer just one of your questions and consider it done, so I give up on those too.

ATMs in the US dispense $20 bills, is the £20 note as dominant over there? I seldom have anything other than a bunch of $20 and a couple of $1 bills in my wallet, seriously. $5 and $10 do exist and are used but they are not that frequent, I seldom have them. When you try to use $50 or $100 here, people look at you strange, they are so rare. For massage I do prefer to use cash, and I suspect many masseurs like that as well.

You just made me think of another rule I forgot to mention 🙂 . I think that pricing that ends with a $5 increment is obnoxious and I hold it against the provider. Realistically, $185 almost always turns into $200 because the chance of me having $5 is close to zero, and asking for change is just awkward. In fact, I see $185 and $265 as more dishonest than $195 and $275, so I'd be even less likely to book.

I agree 100% percent, and I like to consider an additional factor. If the price suggests that the provider is an aggressive extractor of money, they'd have to go WAY over what is usually provided to get any tip. In fact, I refuse to give business to those who are already at $200 for an hour, and I am not sure about $180 either, I might go for it if the masseur is hot and has good comments here. Those who are still in the $140-$150 range usually get $20-$40 if the experience is OK. I don't go to spas so I can't speak to that, I prefer to give business to individual masseurs who are then business owners and are not entitled to tips by default.

If their English is good maybe you can try saying "Please don't beat me up!" If they don't understand, maybe use a translator and print this on a piece of paper? 🙂 🙂 🙂

Some are clearly eager to push the limits. I usually go for 90 minutes and my maximum rate has traditionally been $240 for that, even though $200-$220 is still more frequent. I just did a quick sampling of the listings for DC on rentmasseur, and I'd simply boycott anyone trying to charge $300, there are still much more reasonable alternatives. It is their right to try to extract more, but it's also the client's right to look elsewhere. I get a sense that many of the guys pushing aggressive pricing think of themselves as models, which is a turnoff for me anyway, so I am sticking with my limit 🙂
