Flakes happen to us on every single trip we make. Just this week we had a guy from Prague begin to arrange a meeting. He got right to the end where he books our flights, then complete silence. There is a large group of "clients" who will never become clients. But, we won't know that until they actually flake. Therefore, we take precautions to protect our investment of time and energy. First, we never get into a photo/video sharing frenzy. If they want that kind of interaction, we ask for payment. We've found the constant interaction with unending exchanges just prolongs the inevitable. It also is a way to weed out the fakers. Second, before we go anywhere at all, we request a deposit of at least 20%. Sometimes the flights themselves count as commitment and we will let that suffice. However, when a client isn't willing to put money into it up front, 99% of the time they will go silent. Therefore, it is up to us as providers to count flakes as a business loss and move on when it happens. We know they exist and it is our fault if we get stuck. Outing them publicly would only serve to damage our credibility and make us seem vindictive. Neither of which is good for business.

Luggage: Duffle Bag or Suitcase for short trips?

I do love your ability to thread a one-track mind into just about any post!! #respect XOXOXO -
Lots of guys go to those shows. Not just for girls. Piranha Night Club has the closest thing to a gay version of the show...mostly gogo dancers and drag, though.

Luggage: Duffle Bag or Suitcase for short trips?

You must have a great back! I’m jealous -
Excellent advice. I used to be able to negotiate the resort fee down when they first started opting not to charge things to the room, but it’s not possible any more. Other mid-priced acceptable places are Monte Carlo, Mirage (which I like a lot) and Planet Hollywood. And actually Tropicana has been revitalized and is a good value. Avoid Luxor, Excalibur, New York New York, Circus Curcus like the plague. The SLS can be a good value and they even have a Hilton Garden Inn on property. I love their restaurants and the casino isn’t too big.

Luggage: Duffle Bag or Suitcase for short trips?

As a road warrior myself (40-45 weeks a year), I wouldn’t consider anything without wheels. All my short-trip luggage will fit in a CRJ9. Nothing fits in the CRJ7, but if it fits in the 9, it’ll go anywhere. Also, a duffle can never keep things organized since it’s just a big pocket. I use Tumi or Travel Pro exclusively. It’s a little more expensive, but makes a difference in the ease of travel. I also wouldn’t consider anything without a double stem extension handle in order to use it like a wheel barrow for accessory bags to ride on top. -
Don’t blame you. I know what that’s like.

Book on a Tuesday. Stay over a Saturday.

Fisherman’s Wharf is out of the way for locals and relatively difficult to access. It’s touristy, too. I prefer financial district.

I'm sorry if using the example of my son somehow seemed braggadocious and offensive. I intended to make a point that all Greek organizations shouldn't be measured by the lowest common denominator. As with any organization there are good people and bad. Our experience as a family with three generations involved has been very good. -

Lol...unfortunately Tyler isn’t here on this trip, but we’d like that sound, too!!

Haha!! I should qualify those kinds of statements, shouldn’t I. Suppose I don’t see what we do with clients here as “work”.

In Palm Springs now. Looking forward to being here for a better reason than work!!

As a proud brother of a national organization, it's painful to read how you were treated by those in Greek organizations. That was fortunately not my or my children's experiences. It sounds like they did themselves no favors there in the wider community, either. I've known others who fared no better than you on different campuses and I believe we all pay a heavy price in good will for that no matter from where we hail. It should be a wake up call to all who wear the letters to do better, be more accepting, and be way less douchey! My experience has shown that there is a massive difference between attitudes and positioning campus-to-campus. For instance, the pressure to be Greek and assimilate is so much stronger at places like Ole Miss and Univ. of Alabama. There, if you aren't a member of one, you are derided, shunned, and even ostracized. Auburn and Miss. State, conversely, are heavily independent campuses and very casual in their attitudes. While they do have their dramas, the two worlds co-exist much better. What happened at Penn State is systematic to their culture and endemic of their university. A purge there is necessary. As hard as it would be for some and as heavy-handed as it seems, my opinion is that they should all be given the death penalty and then restarted when the existing students have aged out of the system. Also, alumni from those chapters should not be allowed to restart the programs. They should be planted from other schools. -
Excellent choice!

Ha...well, knowing your cardio routine will outpace ours by that time, I have no doubt we’ll all need safe words!
