  1. Now, talking about exotic food, let's extent a bit further: have you guys had durian and enjoyed it? I am at the point that I can live with it.
  2. Oh, I almost forgot. I had giant salamander once. Just one half-mouthful bite and swallow.
  3. I have had bear, camel, turtle, iguana (at Curacao), cicada, silkworm larvae, and snake. I THINK I had dog meat when I was a kid, but can't be sure. And I don't consider frog and rabbit as exotic. Obviously I had them.
  4. https://rent.men/Jason_Chandler Anyone has met this dude?
  5. https://rent.men/CubanPleaser Anyone met him?
  6. How much do you need to play to get Wynn's buffet comp? And in that context, what is the approximate amount of time you need to play to get some comp in general? Let's say, playing blackjack, $25 a hand, for how long?
  7. Nowadays most of the male escorts from China mainland Photoshop their pictures to death. Looking at this guy's pictures closely, you can easily tell his face was massively Photoshopped. Hate to say that, but as soon as I saw the pictures, I knew it was too good to be true.
  8. The only thing I like at Subway is their seafood combination sandwich. BUT THOSE BASTARDS DISCONTINUED IT! WHY WHY WHY???
  9. https://rent.men/DaringDaniel Anyone met this guy?

  13. I am visiting Vegas in late June and am thinking about meeting one or two professionals while there. Would appreciate if you guys have some recommendations. I am looking for someone who can bottom, masculine, with some meat on their bones (no twinks), d/d free, vanilla (or can be vanilla ) and is friendly. Age open. Thanks in advance!
  14. I thought all those male strip shows were targeted for female audience? You can't go there by yourself as you would be just so out of place... Any gay strip shows?
  15. I am thinking about taking a long deserved vacation to Vegas in late June, for about 3-4 days. Haven't been to Vegas for almost 7 years! I wonder if you guys have any suggestions on which hotel I can stay? My requirement is pretty simple: a fairly nice hotel, most preferably on the Strip, and reasonably inexpensive. I saw a promotion by Treasure Island for $79 a night, but when you add up those ridiculous "resort fees,", a four-day stay adds up to about $520, which is somewhat surprising as I had assumed it would be cheaper in Vegas. I have never stayed at Treasure Island and its level of "niceness" is just about where I am thinking about. Do you guys have any suggestions or opinions? By the way, I saw an ad for "LINQ" with cheaper rates. Is that the old Imperial Palace? That hotel was certainly a dump. Did they renovate it and make it better? Anyone has stayed there?
  16. I thought the Ritz Carlton Pudong in Shanghai was quite good. My room had a somewhat angled view looking out to almost the entire stretch of the Bund across the river. At night when all the street lights were on, it was spectacular. Another hotel that made an impression on me was the Sanderson in London. I was there 15 years ago and I was quite impressed. But now as I look back, I feel it was basically a W hotel on steroids. Too much glass, to much glam and not enough "down to earthness."
  17. Wow, now I am learning something new. I didn't know there was already some facility established in the early 50s. Thanks for the information Kenny!
  18. It took a while for the government to decide and build the whole thing. I think the project was overseen by Madame Chiang herself.
  19. Just looked it up, it was built in 1973.
  20. Never got a chance to stay at the Grand Hotel (or Yuanshan Hotel) when I visited Taipei. It would be a worthwhile stay, as the hotel was effectively the national guest house in Taiwan. The nationalist government built it as a show piece and a cultural counter attack against the mainland Chinese government after they lost the civil war and retreated to the Taiwan island. So the hotel was built to exemplify the best of Chinese cultural heritage to "prove" that the nationalist government in Taiwan should be the "real" government representing all Chinese people. Of course that was, what, 30-40 years ago. With the new separatist government in Taiwan now, the hotel is probably viewed by some Taiwanese as more of a white elephant and cultural nuisance.
  21. The Upper House was right next to my office in Pacific Place when I was working in HK. We used to go there for after-work drink. The view was indeed very nice, but I never got a chance to get inside the guest rooms to check them out. Talking about city skylights, Manhattan has nothing on Hong Kong.
  22. I lived in Hong Kong for couple years but never visited the Peninsula. Heard all those great things about it, like their fleet of Rolls Royces. Haven’t they gotten a bit too touristy though? I mean, the hotel itself becoming a tourist attraction...
  23. I stayed at the Westin in Detroit airport one night as well. It was indeed very nice, quiet, and cool, as it’s literally at the airport where in many places (like a bathroom!) you are right next to a parked airplane.
  24. Glad someone else here also stayed at the Sukhothai! It was just amazing. I had always wanted to stay at the Oriental in Bangkok, but haven’t gotten the chance yet. I know it has often been named the world’s number one hotel for the last god knows how many years, all due to their legendary service.
