I just went to g man spa on w 18st because my regular guy Peter at renew york spa was not available . Anyway I needed it and I’ve never been here before so I was curious plus I like Andy from W (I believe he is one of the owners). Upon entry Kai who is a young and good looking Asian assisted me. He seemed to be the only one available when I got there just before 12. The place is nice and in a good location . The massage with Kai was generic at best. The beginning of the massage was promising because he started with my legs which I love but it then progressed into a somewhat impro deep massage with no oil or lotion which was hurting my skin but still bearable and didn’t go on for too long . The oil/lotion came at some point and the unimpressive stroking continued . He had to use the adjacent bathroom hot water faucet to wipe off the oil and still the towels were cold. Anything but relaxing. Luckily at the beginning I told him he could do 60min or 90 and he chose 60. I left an almost 200% tip (also because he didn’t have change) and I do usually tip very well in the hope that they might remember me next time and be more inspired to please. There was some attempt at sensual once I turned over but even that was totally mechanical and uninspiring. I left feeling like I didn’t get a massage and I just wasted money and time . I might give it another try … I still wish massage places in New York had older more experienced masseurs in general .

Once again after a long time i had the pleasure of getting an outstanding 60min deep tissue massage from Peter at Renew York Spa on 8th avenue. renew+york+spa+peter - Google Search WWW.GOOGLE.COM This older (50s) tallish and naturally strong Chinese masseur has a great technique and is very fair (he told me that I didn’t need to tip him so much ) . I am always very generous when happy. There is no sensual part really it’s just technical and very deep . About the sensual part.. : I am might not be his type, he might be straight or he is impotent . Either way I’ll keep going back to him because of his massage skills and mature manly looks.

Back at HK after a while and i must say that Ben is keeping the place up really well. A few good looking guys working (didn’t ask for their names but they looked South American) and the usual handsome receptionist . I was taken on time and the place is super clean and friendly . I Just came from Shangrila and luckily my regular masseur at this spa Andre was working on thanksgiving. Same great service as always and he gives a really good therapeutic massage. It could be more sensual if wanted but I just needed a 60min relaxing therapeutic one after a long flight back to NYC … My body really feels good right now. So much so that I tipped him over 200% to show my gratitude .

Today I went back to Shangrila after a few months. It is still a great place , perfect location and very clean nice looking rooms . My masseur today was Andre . He was amazing! I had him a few months ago when he first started and I must say he really became a pro since then. By far the best massage I’ve had at Shangrila . I wasn’t looking for anything sensual I just needed something healing and relaxing. The massage was a mix of shiatsu and Swedish. Andre has magic hands which is something you either have or you don’t. He certainly has the gift . Very intuitive and caring. The first 30 min he was doing mostly shiatsu inspired techniques with and without towel draping . He then applied oil and did the Swedish strokes plus some reflexology which felt amazing . After wiping the oil off with a hot towel he applied a very little amount of body lotion (great idea in my opinion) just to finish with a few more relaxing strokes . Same for the front . Andre is Brazilian-Italian 30 something tall darker complexion and quite slim. His long limbs just add the extra control of the strokes and he is able to reach the entire body easily which makes his massage fantastic. I feel so good i had to share this experience right away 😊. Of course he got a very good tip !

I had the same experience with a couple of different masseurs . I personally liked the fact that they wanted to make sure about cleanliness . I am a very clean person and my sense of smell is extremely acute. I find wiping convenient and safe.

I had scheduled Sebastian at the 27 location for a 90 min scrub massage combo for yesterday (Sunday). I was debating whether to write my experience but I feel I need to do it so that the ppl involved can improve and I want to give it another try . I was told to come 30 min earlier (which I did) than my original 1:30 app but due to train issue Sebastian arrived over 30 min late I would say close to 40. Luckily I got to chat with a nice masseur from Peru and time went by faster . Of course the scrubbing had to be cancelled due to the delay . It was my second time at 27 and I can’t remember who I saw last time but i do remember feeling overwhelmed by the amount of guys just hanging out with each other at the reception area. Sebastian is a very nice man and very muscular (probably the most muscular right now in the nyc massage scene ). He arrived flustered and of course that didn’t help my experience . The massage was literally focused almost for 1 hr just on my back and neck with way too much oil. The legs, butt and arms were kind of quick and by the time i was turned over there was an attempt to sensual moves that did nothing for me . Basically a b- massage without sensual elements except for the very end . The massage was a bit less than 90 min but I was very respectful i paid the full amount and left a very good tip .
