What annoys me is names with letters that aren't pronounced. The most annoying is when "Beauchamp" is pronounced "beach 'em." And Steve Colbert's name is really pronounced "Coal-Bert" (I believe his name's Irish, not French).
There are a number of surnames across the UK where the spelling, and pronunciation seemingly don’t match. I remember reading how this came about both from local accents/dialects as well as a bit of holdover from extinct Saxon, Picts, etc. languages. But who knows? ??♂️
Stephen Colbert is in fact Irish - the whole “Coal-bear” pronunciation is part of his comedic schtick. His name in Ireland is pronounced “Coal-bert” - same way he, and his family pronounce it.

I reached out to this gent a couple of years ago, and while I remember he was polite, and professional in our correspondence, we never met up. In truth, I cannot recall what the problem was. I had thought he left this life behind, as I don’t remember coming across his profile in subsequent RM searches.
Seeing him back now, I am sorely tempted - just look at that body! - but I notice his “Into” selections have slimmed down from what I think I remember. As such, I’m not sure he’d be up for the company of bearish fellow such as myself.

Yes, his ad is expired. Ads that are expired don't show up in searches so that's why you couldn't find it.
That’s what I always thought - expired ads show when you click the link if you’re not logged in, but logged in, they don’t.
Thank you, Rex - I thought it was me, that everyone else was seeing a non-expired ad.

Well, when I logged in on RM on the laptop, and searched by name, nothing came up. When I searched by his stats, same results.
So am I the only one who saw/sees his profile as being expired when clicking the link (and not logged in)?

First off, you gents have exceptional tastes! This thread is both sensory overload, and well timed as I found out this week that of my 3 local regulars, one has retired, one has relocated out of state, and the other’s v-mail is full. Le sigh.

After receiving our 2nd dose, even if he's being super-cautious, why wait to be even able to schedule an appointment? Does he think you're going to somehow undo the dose in those two weeks? He sounds like a bit of a weirdo to me--just my opinion.
Not him - the colonoscopy place requires 2 weeks after the jab before they will schedule you ??♂️

Yes, I just received the second jab this week, so per my Dr in 2 weeks I can set up the appointment. I have it in my calendar, but seeing this thread served as another reminder.

I never thought of the malware angle, I just assume it’s a scam with the end game being money. I’m on a few gay male social media sites/groups as well, and it is astonishing how many men do fall for them, and do send money. These scammers do seem to target older, single men. I feel bad for the ones being scammed, but at the same time this is not something new either. I suppose there are just a lot of lonely fellows out there who are just happy with the attention, not thinking where this can/will lead.

My name is so common it's virtually impossible to find me in Google just using my name
I’ve the opposite problem - my surname is extremely uncommon. In fact, everyone with the surname in the USA, I’m related to within 2 degrees of cousinship. There’s even less now in Europe - and that handful are all 4th or 5th cousins.
Having said this, most gents if they make mention of it, just ask where it originates - then proceed to mispronounce it ? I’m so used to all the questions, mispronunciations I never give it a thought anymore with providers.

I have to get my own sorted. Should have had it last year, but my Dr put the kaibosh on that due to Covid. But as what used to be called “bowel cancer” as a catch all runs in the family of 3 of my 4 grandparents, I need to get it done.
Not apprehensive about the procedure, but not looking forward to the prep.
Ah well - there are worse things I could be apprehensive about!

I don’t know of any “regular Joe” shareholder revolts. Most of the shareholder revolts I can think of involved an individual or group of individuals who already own a sizable percentage of shares gathering the proxy votes of the “regular Joe” shareholders to battle the board. The ones I can recall were the Rockefeller family v Exxon over environmental issues/policies; and, Roy Disney v Disney over creative decisions leading to Eisner leaving. As I type this I now remember a group of shareholders getting the other “regular Joe” shareholders on their side in a row over executive salaries and perks at a British cable company. They were successful in getting caps on executives as a result.
