A friend of mine was an escort for several years and told me a few stories he's heard: "Yeah, this is my house/car" when it was clearly an AirBnB/rental, etc. "I work in this big important job!" or "I'm a very important _______ in government!" "I've never done this before" In the end... he said it never really mattered. As long he paid, if they wanted that story... so be it. That was just them living a fetish or fantasy.

I work in cyber security where extortion campaigns are very common. "We have you data... give us 10 bitcoin or we're going to release your customer data to the internet" or "If you don't pay us XX, we're going to take down your website". One of the first rules you learn is you don't negotiate or pay extortionists. It will start out as "Give me $200 and I'll go away". A few days later it will be "It's just another $100 and I'll be out of your life." You're going to be milked until there is nothing more to milk. Lookup phone harassment laws for your state (they vary greatly). You don't even have to necessarily report him for extortion. It could end up simply being reported as harassment. If you've blocked him and he continues swapping numbers it's clearly harassment. In terms of him actually exposing you, at that point... he no longer has a card to play. It's game over for him and no money to be made. So it's much less likely to happen. I would just block him and move on with your life.

Published by BANG Showbiz English Lukas Gage’s mom praised his “great a**” when she saw his nude scene in ‘The White Lotus’. The 27-year-old actor has had some raunchy sex scenes in both the HBO vacation satire and the latest season of ‘You’ but the risque material didn’t faze his “cool hippy” mother. Asked how his mom reacted to the scenes, he told Variety: “She says, ‘That’s a great a**. Get that money. Get that bag and be committed.’ “My mom’s cool. She’s like a cool little hippy lady. With nudity, I think we both share sort of a European vibe.” Lukas – who is dating hairstylist Chris Appleton – doesn’t want anyone to feel “scrutinised or like the butt of the joke” with the sex acts he’s depicted on screen. Asked if he’s had any crazy fan mail, he replied: “No. We have a couple people from the golden shower community that are very grateful that it’s being shown on screen, and they have some haters who are yucking some people’s yum. “Everyone should feel heard and feel seen. I never wanted to make anyone feel scrutinised or like the butt of the joke. I just believe that everyone should embrace all their kinks and everything that they love about themselves and not feel ashamed.” Meanwhile, Lukas offered praise to Diplo for his “honesty” after the producer revealed he had received oral sex from a man and was “not not gay”. He said: “I’m sure there are a lot of people who have that same exact experience but maybe don’t have the confidence or the honesty to talk about it like that. “And, you know, there’s going to be people on either side saying that he’s not labelling himself enough. I commend him on his honesty and I don’t think we need to label everything and have it all figured out. Things can be in a grey area and don’t have to be so black and white.” View the full article

Published by Euronews (English) Italy’s LGTBQ+ community is accusing Giorgia Meloni’s right-wing government of trampling on same-sex couples’ parental rights despite the country’s already having some of the weakest in Europe. For activists, the latest example of this came this week when the Senate voted against a European Commission regulation for cross-border recognition of same-sex parents. Italy thus joined the Visegrad group — composed of the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia — in refusing to transpose the regulation. The news has outraged the country’s LGTBQ+ community, which has repeatedly called out Meloni… Read More View the full article

Published by Reuters By Andrew Chung and John Kruzel WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Judges, scholars, lawyers, government officials and current U.S. Supreme Court members paid tribute to the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg on Friday, honoring a liberal stalwart and women’s rights pioneer whose 2020 death opened the door to a transformative rightward shift on the top U.S. judicial body. A rare meeting of the Supreme Court Bar, comprised of attorneys admitted to practice law before the court, featured speeches from people who worked closely with Ginsburg including U.S. Solicitor General Elizabeth Prelogar, who argues cases for President Joe Biden’s administration. “Her life was a quintessentially American story,” Prelogar said. “She was born to a family of immigrants, and grew up with modest means. She faced profound adversity and discrimination. Yet, through her intellect, hard work and force of will, she not only reached the top of her profession, she reshaped it. She broke barriers for those who came after her and she inspired multiple generations.” A similar meeting was held following the 2016 death of conservative Justice Antonin Scalia, a influential figure on the court whose memory looms large among conservatives just as Ginsburg’s does among liberals. The two jurists were close friends who shared an affection for opera. Ginsburg’s death at age 87 after a bout with cancer was an inflection point for the court. It enabled then-President Donald Trump to make a third appointment to the court – Amy Coney Barrett – who was rapidly confirmed by a Senate then controlled by his fellow Republicans. That gave the court a 6-3 conservative majority, further diminishing the power of its liberal bloc and paving the way for rulings like last year’s decision ending the recognition of a constitutional right to abortion. Trump also appointed conservative Justices Neil Gorsuch in 2017 and Brett Kavanaugh in 2018. The conservative majority has shown no hesitation in taking up contentious issues, also including a ruling last year widening gun rights. Based on arguments held since their current term began in October, the conservative justices appear poised in the coming months to end affirmative action policies used by colleges and universities to increase campus racial diversity, further undermine a federal law barring racial discrimination in voting and enable businesses to refuse certain services to LGBT people based on constitutional free-speech rights. Barrett was confirmed by Senate Republicans a week before the 2020 presidential election. Democrats accused them of hypocrisy after Republicans refused to act on Democratic President Barack Obama’s nomination of Merrick Garland to succeed Scalia during a presidential election year in 2016. Garland, a former federal appeals court judge who now serves as U.S. attorney general, was due to speak at a special sitting of the court following the bar meeting. Chief Justice John Roberts is also set to speak. Ginsburg rose from a working class upbringing in New York City’s borough of Brooklyn and prevailed over systemic sexism in the legal ranks to become one of America’s best-known jurists. Appointed to the Supreme Court by Democratic President Bill Clinton in 1993, she provided key votes in landmark rulings securing equal rights for women, expanding gay rights and safeguarding abortion rights. Ginsburg was the second woman ever named to the court, after Justice Sandra Day O’Connor. The court now for the first time has four female justices including Barrett and the three liberal justices, Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagan and Ketanji Brown Jackson, the latter being Biden’s sole appointee. Published by BANG Showbiz English Bono was too “macho” to admit to being an ABBA fan. The U2 frontman admitted he never wanted to “own up” to enjoying the Scandinavian quartet’s pop hits when he was a teenager “in the middle of punk rock” but he and bandmate The Edge professed to a love of various chart stars who are not “very hip” because they can appreciate their art for what it is. Explaining why they chose to cover ABBA’s ‘SOS’ in BBC Radio 2’s ‘Piano Room’, which was broadcast on Thursday (16.03.23), The Edge told DJ Gary Davies: “We’re big fans of this Scandinavian band, appreciators of their work in a way that grew over years. We are fans of the Bee Gees which people wouldn’t have imagined. We’re fans of lots of great songwriters who aren’t necessarily seen as very hip, and I guess we’re just appreciators of their work.” Bono added: “I was saying to one of the cellists today that I didn’t have the courage to own up to this next band when I was 16 in the middle of punk rock, but I did get to the Bee Gees and I was ready to own up to ‘Massachusetts’ and ‘Tragedy’, I mean these are just crazy good. “John Lennon owned up to loving the Bee Gees. But there’s a bit of a macho, ‘I don’t want to own up to ABBA.’ But I’ll tell you what, they’re just better songs. You can’t be empirical about everything in art.” The ‘One’ singer recalled the “phenomenon” of how ABBA were so beloved by “young mothers”. He said: “There is something about ABBA. I can remember ABBA as like the national anthem for young mothers. Certainly at closing time at our local pub, often young women would sing ‘Thank You For The Music’, and I would sing it and I was very thankful for the music! “But I was like, what is this phenomenon? This is before their musicals and all that. What is going on with ABBA?” Listen back to Bono and The Edge in BBC Radio 2’s Piano Room on BBC Sounds and BBC iPlayer. View the full article

Published by Reuters By Kanishka Singh WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Human Rights Campaign, the largest LGBTQ advocacy group in the United States, and its Black former president, Alphonso David, have settled a lawsuit in which David had alleged racial discrimination in his firing, the two sides said on Wednesday. David was fired in September 2021 after New York state Attorney General Letitia James issued a report saying he had advised former Governor Andrew Cuomo about dealing with sexual harassment allegations, the organization’s board said at the time. David was identified in the report as having been involved in efforts to undermine Cuomo’s first accuser, Lindsey Boylan. David, who said in his lawsuit that he was the group’s first Black president, had held the post for two years. The Washington-based nonprofit group advocates for equal rights for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people (LGBTQ). The lawsuit alleged racial discrimination in David’s firing. The advocacy group denied that and said David was fired for violating the organization’s conflict of interest policy by assisting Cuomo’s team. The terms of the settlement were confidential, the two sides said in a joint statement on Wednesday, adding they chose to “amicably resolve” the lawsuit. Human Rights Campaign named a new president, Kelley Robinson, in September. Robinson is the first Black woman to hold the post. Cuomo, 63, stepped down as governor in 2021 after a state investigation concluded he sexually harassed women who worked for him. Cuomo denied wrongdoing. According to David’s LinkedIn profile, he was president of Human Right Campaign for over two years. He had spent over eight years prior to that working for Cuomo’s office – first as counsel for civil rights and then as chief counsel. He is currently the president and chief executive officer of the Global Black Economic Forum. (Reporting by Kanishka Singh in Washington; Editing by Lisa Shumaker) View the full article

Published by AFP People wait in line to hear a case challenging the legality of medication abortion at the J Marvin Jones Federal Building and Courthouse in Amarillo, Texas Washington (AFP) – Until 2019, Matthew Kacsmaryk was a lawyer representing a Christian organization aligned with the religious right. Now a US federal judge, he is set to decide the future of abortion pills across the country. The 45-year-old Kacsmaryk has been in the spotlight ever since a coalition of anti-abortion activists sued the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), seeking to overturn the federal agency’s approval of mifepristone over 20 years ago. By filing the suit in Amarillo, Texas, plaintiffs were certain to have Kacsmaryk oversee the case, as he is the only sitting federal judge in the city. That was not a coincidence, said ACLU project director Jennifer Dalven. The group behind the suit “was able to hand-select their judge,” picking one who “has issued a series of radical decisions” on hot-button social issues, Dalven said. “In any rational universe, this case would be laughed out of court on multiple grounds.” Conservative opponents to abortion rights have closed ranks around Kacsmaryk, who was appointed by former president Donald Trump and confirmed in 2019 by the then-Republican-controlled Senate. The judge is “the latest target of judicial intimidation” whose “real offense is his background litigating religious liberty cases,” said Carrie Severino, who leads the conservative legal group Judicial Crisis Network. Before assuming his life-long post as a federal judge, Kacsmaryk was a lawyer for the First Liberty Institute, a Texas-based group that focused on cases surrounding religious freedom. Those included representing bakers who refused to make a wedding cake for same-sex couples because it violated their Christian beliefs, and supporting a public high school coach who was fired after praying on the field with students. While at First Liberty Institute, Kacsmaryk openly opposed the Supreme Court’s landmark decision to legalize same-sex marriage as well as transgender people’s choice to use bathrooms of their gender identity. In a 2015 article, he decried the “sexual revolution” which he said was “spearheaded by secular libertines.” “Even the unborn child must yield to the erotic desires of liberated adults,” Kacsmaryk said. When the Senate was considering his nomination — confirmation of the president’s picks requires a simple majority — Democrats were strongly opposed, voting en bloc against him. Democratic leader Chuck Schumer at the time described Kacsmaryk as having “demonstrated a hostility to the LGBTQ bordering on paranoia.” Kacsmaryk nonetheless vowed that once in office, he would judge impartially without letting his beliefs influence his decisions. While he has mostly dealt with low-level cases since taking office in Amarillo, Kacsmaryk has already ruled once against the Biden administration when it comes to reproduction-related issues. Late last year, he ruled that a federal program which funds contraception for minors without their parents’ consent was illegal — although he did not order an immediate halt to the program. His sister, whose child Kacsmaryk helped place up for adoption when she gave birth at 17, now believes he is the right person to decide the mifepristone case. “I feel like he was made for this,” Jennifer Griffith, still an opponent to abortion rights, told The Washington Post. “He is exactly where he needs to be.” View the full article

Published by BANG Showbiz English Gwyneth Paltrow has found rectal ozone therapy to be “very helpful”. The 50-year-old actress has revealed that the therapy – which involves having gas delivered via a catheter into the colon – is the weirdest wellness treatment she’s ever tried. During an appearance on the ‘Art of Being Well’ podcast, Gwyneth explained: “I have used ozone therapy, rectally. Can I say that? It’s pretty weird. It’s pretty weird, yeah. But it’s been very helpful.” The Oscar-winning actress also revealed that she’s consumed ketone drinks as part of her wellness journey. Gwyneth observed that the drinks taste like “cherry gasoline”. She said: “It helps with cognition and brain fog and energy. I have it with green tea in the afternoon. It tastes pretty, pretty bad. “I believe that they are coming out with an improved flavour or an improved version, which is very exciting.” Meanwhile, Gwyneth previously revealed that she’d “barely” drunk alcohol after being diagnosed with COVID-19. The Hollywood star – who was diagnosed with the virus in 2020 – explained: “It’s been a long year of barely any alcohol, I mean I’ve had a sip here and there but very rarely. “You know me, I love a drink, I love the ritual of it, and I love to sit down and have one and chat. I love the taste of alcohol, like, I love whisky and wine and, whatever, vodka. I’ll take it all. “But I think what happened was, having gotten COVID and having felt like s***, or like having had long COVID stuff for a while, I just didn’t feel vibrant.” The actress had COVID “early on” and she was subsequently encouraged to change her diet by a medical expert. Gwyneth explained: “I didn’t feel good, and I had really high inflammation levels and the doctor was like, ‘Look, you really need to clean up your act. You gotta, at least for three months, no alcohol, no grains, no sugar, nothing processed,’ everything like that.” View the full article

Published by BANG Showbiz English Sarah Ferguson and Princess Diana were once arrested for impersonating police officers. The Duchess of York – who was previously married to Prince Andrew – has revealed that she and the late princess were both arrested during a bachelorette party in the mid-1980s, when they were dressed in police uniforms. During an appearance on ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’, the duchess recalled: “We went into this nightclub, and the waiter came up to us and said, ‘Excuse me, this is a members club and it’s for fun and we don’t serve police officers here.’ Looking straight at us.” The duchess and Diana – who died in Paris in August 1997, aged 36 – were arrested for impersonating officers. However, they were quickly released once the police discovered their true identities. The duchess continued: “We were then arrested. “We go in the back of the van, and she had put her engagement ring the other way, and I had put my engagement ring the other way. And we are sitting, like this … and she just looked around and saw smoky bacon-flavoured crisps and started taking them and eating them. And the policeman in the front goes, ‘You can’t do that,’ and then eventually they realised that it was Diana and me.” The duchess – who was married to Andrew between 1986 and 1996 – also revealed that the princess taught her some important lessons about royal life. She quipped: “I’d got straight into dinner, because she had been there a few years before me, she used to run like a gazelle to get into the dining room quicker than me. I thought, ‘That’s a bit strange,’ and when I got in, I realised why, because she got the young people and I got all the old people.” View the full article

Published by BANG Showbiz English Sir Elton John is planning a huge holiday after wrapping up his farewell tour but is still keen to make new music. The 75-year-old pop star has been married to David Furnish since 2005 and is due to wrap up his ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road’ tour in July – which was scheduled to run across three years but ended up being stretched out to five because of the COVID-19 pandemic – and teased that another album is on the cards when he quits touring for good. He is quoted by The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column as saying: “I finish in July and then I am going to go on a vacation with family for two months, and then I am probably going to think about making a record. But I haven’t really thought about who I am going to make it with yet. Now that I have stopped touring, I will have more time.” The ‘Crocodile Rock’ hitmaker – who has sons Zachary, 12, and 10-year-old Elijah with David – completed the Australian leg of the tour in January and is set to return for a string of shows on home soil from March 23 before going on to Europe and eventually closing out the entire run with a headlining slot at Glastonbury in June. Just days ago, Elton – who most recently released a reworked version of his hit track ‘Tiny Dancer’ titled ‘Hold Me Closer’ with fellow pop legend Britney Spears – was praised for his constant “hunger” for new music. Rina Sawayama, who was brought over to Los Angeles to perform at the star’s annual Oscars viewing party on Sunday (12.03.23), said: “Elton John was a stranger that changed my life. He reached out to me because he was a fan of my music. I’m surprised how charitable he lives his life because he’s literally the most famous musician in the whole world. “He wants to be so in touch with what’s going on in the world, whether it’s new artists – he’s always so hungry and that’s always been inspiring.” View the full article
