Emily, let me tell you a story. (Yes, I've been re-watching a classic sitcom.) When I was much younger and still going to the bars, one evening I saw a very butch number -- very butch and very hot. I would bet that the negative review actually applies to someone else. It does not sound like Steve at all.

When he was scheduled to be in Philly, I emailed him to ask about oral to completion. His reply was "I can include that For $350/hr" But the dates he was here didn't work for me, so I never scheduled any time with him.

I would not characterize him as totally unreliable. Over approximately a two year period we had what seemed at the time to be a fairly nice relationship. He did several favors for me. Things did fall apart eventually, and I won't dispute your use of the term con artist. But he can be friendly and charming and fun to be around, even if it is all an act.

He certainly put on some weight since his heyday, but not so much that it bothered me. It's been well over a year since I last saw him, so I can't say what shape he's in now.

I reviewed him for Daddy's Reviews several years ago, but apparently the review is no longer visible. I've been with him several times and had several very good experiences with him. I've also seen him off the clock several times and developed what I thought was something of a friendship with him, with both of us doing favors for each other. But he can be flakey and unreliable. Catch him on a good day and you might have a great time with him. Just understand that he is straight and strictly gay for pay.
