I wasn't going to comment because my experience with him was about five years ago and perhaps he's cleaned up his act since then, but when I hired him I was not impressed. Among other things his hygiene left much to be desired. I don't think he ever washed his navel; the lint was truly gross.

It's fine with me when a provider contacts me after I've viewed his profile. If I'm interested, it has often led to a productive exchange, and if I'm not interested, I politely tell him. Or if it just looks like an auto-response, I just ignore. No problem at all.

Understood. But I'm not talking about endless messages. My initial communication might be something along the lines of complimenting their pics, followed by a brief description of the sort of session I'm looking for, the general vicinity where I'm located, and a question as to rates and if he does in or out calls. And I send a face pic. Based on the response, I generally know whether I want to send him my number. If his rate is too high or if he only does in calls and he's too far away, I generally won't. If he's arrogant or flakey, the same. I'm just trying to find out if he is someone I might want to hire.

And I guess that's what I don't understand. RM's servers are in a different country (I'm being US centric here) whereas their phones will have a record of their texts that potentially are subject to subpoenas--assuming they are worried about law enforcement.

I've encountered this several times now where I've sent an RM message and received an auto-response to the effect that I should call or text at the number given. My preference is to establish communication via RM messages, and once I feel comfortable, then switch to texts. In other words, I'd rather not give out my phone number until the provider has given me some evidence that he's not a flake or worse. So I'm just curious why some people are so allergic to using the RM message system. FWIW, I've never had any serious problems using it.

No, I'm sure he's not fake. I checked and I did text on RM with him when he was in Philly in the spring. We couldn't arrange a time then. I just sent him a message again and he plans to be in Philly in March. It would be great to hear from someone who has had experience with him.

There's a provider that I added to my buddy list on RM whose account has since expired. Now I've been noticing that even though it expired several weeks ago, RM often shows that the provider is currently logged in. Very strange. What can he do? He can't send or receive messages, can he? RM no longer lets one see his phone number; when I click on the Call Me button I get the option to send him a membership gift. Out of curiosity, I sent him a message, just to see if he would receive it and reply. Much to my surprise, I received an instant auto-reply containing his phone number! So in a sense he's getting a freebie from RM. Very odd.
