  1. I'd be curious to know in what business setting and corporate world (or any world for that matter) would talking about one's sexual orientation be "casual and open." I simply can't imagine why one would talk about one's life in a business setting "very openly and casually." Gay or Straight.
  2. I suspect that that has to do a lot with what one means by "out" -- a word I struggle with myself from time to time. For some, being "out" means talking about being gay ALL THE TIME. These people I can't abide. I had a group of younger men (20s) over to my house in the country for a party not too long ago and no matter the topic being discussed one of the guys brought everything back to sex and penises. Heck, if we had brought up terrorism he would have asked about the penis size of the Boston bombers. It was annoying. There are "professional" gay men and there are gay men who are "professionals." There's a big difference. There's no question that it's easier to be out and work in the theater or fashion or a university rather than an office or in a bank. But if you're not going around wearing a caftan and talking about your latest fuck I wonder how hard it would be to fit in anywhere? Just asking.
  3. I was going to say the same thing. The old women love me. I suspect if I lived in South Florida, I'd be married by now
  4. I have to stop looking at him or I might not be able to look at another guy ever
  5. Rumored but, of course, never proven. I've been told he had a wife and kids (not that that means anything). He always came across as gay to me but maybe he was just a good actor.
  6. While I don't care, that is an extra little bonus. I watched some of his youtube videos and he comes across as rather shy and sweet. And he's smart, too! Sigh. Unrequited love/lust really sucks
  7. That's just not fair. No mere mortal should be allowed to look that perfect. He really unbelievably stunning. And I agree, he's even hotter in his selfies.
  8. Exactly. And what is so wonderful about Luther Billis is he's on stage for only 15 minutes. An entire evening of Burstein and my head would explode. That's the thing about character actors. They're good in small doses but carrying an entire show? NO WAY.
  9. I always was certain he was gay but apparently I was wrong. It must have been his screen persona: very bitchy.
  10. Things can't be looked at in a vacuum. Discussing the current production of Fiddler without referencing and comparing its history would be like trying to discuss the current Israel/Palestine situation without discussing anything that took place prior to last week.
  11. For me, I realize that without Mostel I have very little appreciation for Fiddler. It needs him. One friend of mine who worked with Topol felt that "watching him was like watching a WASP play a rabbi." Of course, it's fair to compare one actor to another. To say otherwise is silly. Burstein is a fine character actor. He ain't a star. Has no star presence and if there's one thing Fiddler really needs is star presence. Otherwise, I'm afraid, I find it deadly dull affair. Even Fierstein who was so over-the-top it was painful had stage presence.
  12. I suppose it just boils down to "the dick wants what the dick wants."
  13. I'd spend my whole time thinking of Mildred Pierce if I met up with Zachary Scott and that would kill any potential boner
  14. Sounds very interesting. But when I saw the cast list of Stefanie Powers and Georgia Engel all I could think of was "1970s TV called. They want their actresses back!" Seriously, it is nice to see older actresses getting a break and roles in new shows.
  15. I had no idea whether to laugh or to cry because obviously the guy has serious issues. I asked for a picture out of curiousity. He sent a pic of fully clothed black guy on a horse. It was sad. I asked for a shirtless pic and he said "I'm not going to go out like that. If you need a shirtless pic then find someone else. Good luck in yo search." I sure would like to meet me some of dem "clean homosexuals."
  16. So I answered a backpage ad looking for a sugar daddy and this is the response I got. One of the most bizarre ever. "To make a long story short. My income got fucked up. I cant take out a loan because i never owned a credit card and i dont have anybody who is willing to co sign for me. I need 500 by Thursday.Really tomorrow but Thursday is the definite deadline. I dont have any money at all to atleast try and invest it in a quick flip. My morals wont let me rob or hurt somebody to get it. Over the summer i had a gay friend in his 40s who past away. He kept givin me money for no reason even when i told him to stop. He told me that he just liked the fact that he can be himself around me and didnt have to act any different because i was straight and that he only kept giving me money was so ill always be straight. Thats what made me think of this ad as a last resort to get the money. I figured older men just want the company of a younger one and wouldn't mind giving the money if they had it. Thats why i used the term sugar daddy. Um comfortable with my sexuality and a non judgemental person so I can hang around homosexuals without feeling uncomfortable...With that being said. If your interested in helping. Understand you will not get any sex out of it. I do know clean homosexuals i can hook you up with if thats what your looking for. The benefit you get if you choose to help out is making a new friend who can help you increase your income. The only reason I cant help myself is because i dont have any funds to get started. I just need a pic me up. But to answer your question i am in good shape. I ride horses. "
  17. How do you define "successful?" I saw him twice and he was absolutely horrendous. Couldn't sing, couldn't act. It was like a drag queen performance. That's why people went because it was hilarious, not because it was "successful."
  18. Mostel was a force of nature. I think I saw him do it at least 6 or 7 times. No one else has ever come close to him in that role. His stage presence and star quality was overwhelming. It's what's so missing in theater. We have lots of good actors but no one with that kind of stage presence or star quality.
  19. Joanna Merlin was the original Tzeitel. Midler played the part later in the run, she didn't originate the role.
  20. Honestly, you lump Harvey Fierstein's over-the-top ridiculous portrayal with Zero Mostel who was simply a god? LOL.
  21. I don't see it that way at all. I've loved a great deal of his work but he's not perfect. Who is?
  22. He shows up on my grindr from time to time. He always lists all these things they don't do. Seems flaky to me, at best. And the pic he's using must be older than a Polaroid.
  23. I love Mamet's work but it does take some special actors to pull it off. Or are your objections to him purely political?
  24. Pacino hasn't given a really good performance since around 1979.
  25. Not bad but it could be thinned out a lot more.
