Yah, I feel like it needs to be a really great experience for a 60 minute massage to warrant at $300+ price tag.

I can't really speak to his massage skills. But I can say that I used to work out with Steve at his studio on La Brea, and I always thought he was attractive, nice, and extremely personable. I can only imagine that he carries that over to his massage services.

Can you share more about your experience with Alex @IlyaRozanov? How was his massage techinque/skill?

If I wanted a purely therapeutic massage I would go to Burke Williams.

That's too bad he is therapeutic only. I had wondered whether he offered more based off of that bathroom selfie of himself with a seemingly hard erection/bulge visible through his shorts.

My recs are more in their 30s/40's and all are very skilled, fit, have very little body hair if any at all, very friendly and down to earth, and provide a very connected experience.

I was quoting a portion of what the original poster said ... in his full comment he said foreign massuers were the "worst of the worst" and that sounds pretty xenophobic to me.
I can empathize with anyone who had a bad experience due to misunderstandings in communication, but there's no need to assert that it's best practice to "avoid" anyone who is foreign or non fluent in English.
Also Google Translate is free.

🙄
I agree with most of your "tips" but this one about "If their English is bad" is a bit xenophobic. English fluency does not make someone a more skilled massuer, and it certainly isn't a prerequisite for learning massage. Some of the best massages I've had have been from non-native English speakers.

I treat it the same as Yelp reviews for a restaurant or a car mechanic or whatever else. No one review is gospel, you have to take an average of many reviews together. Look for things multiple different review all or mostly separately say. If a business has 50 reviews, and 1 person says "service was terrible!", i would assume that customer probably is a Karen and was the troublemaker or that the waiter was probably just having an off day. If the business has 50 reviews and 25 of those reviews all say some semblance of "the food is good but the wait staff could use some improvement", that's a pattern and something that's likely a fairly consistent experience at that business.

Hi all, I've been seeing Masseurs here in LA for many years, and kept notes on the good, the bad, and the ugly. I've never posted my reviews to provide some secrecy but after paying $250 for an absolutely awful therapeutic massage in LA last week I'm done protecting providers.
So let me ask y'all: should I post my notes? I've seen so many of them here in LA and by and large I must say the overall quality is just average here. There a few standouts who really understand service but many do not.
I'm feeling now that if you suck at your job people have a right to know.
Thoughts?

I saw him tonight and can report that he does sensual massages. It was not full service but there were plenty of sensual elements and a HE.
