Looks like they sent out an email saying that they are closing down the in-person yoga studio. What a bummer.

Saw Alex recently and had a similar experience. While he was nice, the sensual elements were not incorporated throughout the massage, and there was no frontal massage. Felt robotic with him announcing the release at the end. Would not recommend.

I went to see Russ based solely on this recommendation.
We get a lot of visiting pretty boys and hot guys down here and honestly Russ in someone that I likely would have skipped over.
The massage was phenomenal so I thank you for this post.

I'll second this for the LA-area.
He's the real deal. While I've only received a purely therapeutic deep-tissue from Marc, it was one of the best massages I've had in a long time. I was already looking forward to booking my next appointment before the first one was even finished. He's so good, that I don't even care about his other "menu" of offerings. I think he'll be my go-to for therapeutic from here on out.

Instead of attacking Russ because he “doesn’t turn you on” (which goes against the rules of this thread), how about sharing your choice for the best masseur on RM or MF? Sounds like you experienced many in NYC. Or do you base a masseur’s merit solely on looks?

Just to echo hte above - if safety is making sure the person showing up is the person who’s texting you, wouldn’t a description of what you’re wearing be enough to know? I’m not sure what extra safety it offers.
Having said that, I did send a picture, even though I typically NEVER do that, and that resulted in being ghosted. It made me question if it was really about “safety”.

Masseurs provide their photos because they are marketing their services and handsome fellas in general get more clients and can charge higher rates. The “equity” of the situation is that the client is PAYING, and generally they are paying multiples of the amount they could hire an unseen random person in a random storefront down the street. It shouldn’t matter what the client looks like. If a client does appear in a Grim Reaper outfit, the masseur can bolt the door!
I think I have been asked once out of hundreds of appointments over the years for a photo. I simply ignored the request and the appointment proceeded just fine without another mention. In NYC it doesn’t seem to be a thing because there are plenty of options and most clients would move to next. But, as you say, people can do whatever they wish with photos or tipping or whatever, but a picture request of a client is, as a practical matter, pointless, unless a therapist is screening. Okay then; I’ll send a photo if I get a discount. 😅

I fail to see how a photograph might prevent a harrowing client experience. If a prospective client is a well recognized area sociopath, will he send his actual photo? If the client is a less publicly known sociopath, will he send a photo that indicates potential peril? Will he send the picture of him with his ninja sword in hand? Or his photo showing fangs and blood? I doubt it. If a client is nefarious, he probably won’t send a photo which indicates danger to establish an appointment, right? Presumably even homicidal maniacs keep reasonably innocuous pictures on hand for just such an occasion.
it’s a nonsensical request.

Enjoyed my time with him. He said he does only 60 min massages. I prefer 90 mins, so haven't been back.

That's too bad about it being purely therapeutic, though his rates are on the higher side ($250 for 90 mins) for a fully therapeutic massage.

Well, I just texted him. See what he offers what his rates are and his availability. If he gets back to me, I’ll let you know.

His RM reviews show that he charged someone $600 for a 90-minute massage and $400 for a 60-minute massage. He mentioned that he is shutting down his ad due to lack of traffic. I'd suspect his prices are not helping.

Maybe I booked him on a bad day, but I agree with the bad attitude comment. He was rude and made me feel so uncomfortable that I couldn’t relax on the table.
