Life is as complicated as we make it.
@kaboom35 Hotels requiring a key to access the elevator is not a new thing and it's becoming more and more common, with some hotels even requiring a key card to enter the premises after 11 PM.
Just talk to the reception and tell them to give your key to your friend coming to visit you as @hypothetically says or meet him discreetly at the elevator. It's not a big deal! Tell him you might have coworkers around you and he must dressed and talk in a discreet way just in case...
I know escorts who simply wait a minute and tailgate their way to the floor where the client is staying. The Grand Hyatt in Stockton St San Francisco not only requires a card but if you're staying on the 28th floor your card only works for that precise floor. I had an escort who got my room sweaty, he ran into the elevator with someone else and took a ride to the 15th floor, later on he took the stairs to the 28th. Yes, the exit stairs didn't require a card.
Maybe some on here overthink things... I guess we have careers and reputations to worry about. Guilty as charged! But even now a days in this puritan side of the pond there are subjects that must be kept in a discreet way.
Personally I'd rather a guy hiring while on a business trip instead of looking who's on grindr in the office, dating coworkers, hitting the interns, etc.
