  1. I've had a pacemaker for 50 years. I go through a metal detector all the time. Once in a while a pat down. My doctor suggests I get a pacemaker/defribillator, but I'm not sure about doing it yet.

  2. i pretty much never buy fast food or pay attention to the ads for chicken sandwiches. I have no idea whether Popeyes markets primarily to the African American community. It's hard to find it racist without extra information that I'm not able to verif y.

  3. A lot of bathhouses and sex clubs advertise Cum munion once or twice a month. That's bareback sex. I went to one club on Cum munion night in San Francisco a few years ago and it was packed with men having sex in the open. I saw one guy do about four other guys. I didn't do much except watch.

  4. I think Jim aged badly when I saw him he looked like some weathered old guy who lives in a trailer in Az or something, bald with a long ponytail. But in fairness he is prolly the OLDEST of this bunch, 56-57 now I think. Rockland I agree, only mid 40's and still very doable to me anyway . And yah Ryan is still in prison has a few more years to go last I heard.

LUV Lauren B btw! I sat at her feet once sev years ago, they had this huge birthday celebration for Hal Prince on the Great Lawn in Central Park, everyone orig casts from his shows performed numbers going all the way back to 60's, it was open to all with thousands of ppl on blankets etc but there was a roped off section in front with maybe 200 chairs and my uncle snagged invite for that section and took me but we were towards the back n he said fuk this and we just walked up and sat on the grass in front of the first row of chairs, they had names on them and I sat on the ground in front of one that said BET that I assumed was the Network but I "hoped" was short for Bette Midler lol but Lauren Bacall sat there! (my unc said her name to friends was really BETTY or something?) She looked very classy in a bohemian way all in black. The Mayor intro'd the night and said if you can PLEASE don't smoke (this was before the new laws) and I heard that gravely voice behind me say "We're outside for christ's sake.." lol. (she smoked during it lol)

I haven't seen Jim in over 20 years. I saw him often as a bartender before he started into porn. I'd have to ask my brother what he looks like now. He stayed with my brother for several months not too long ago.

  5. I wrote a check last year...:D;)

Upon her death, sorting through my mother’s things was tedious. In boxes where she hoarded junk mail, I would find something like a hand written note from Claudette Colbert who was our neighbor in Barbados...or a hundred year old family photograph. I had to sort through every piece of paper.

I resolved that I would never do anything like that to my kids. I will not be a pack rat. Of course, I hope I have multiple decades to live up to that resolution....but I did finally trash my college text books last year...and I burned my bank statements from the 90’s (shredding would have taken too long)

I just shredded my bank statements last week, along with checks my parents wrote (Dad passed away 22 years ago) . I haven't tossed the textbooks yet.

  6. When cleaning out my mother’s house, I found my Grandfather’s passport to Japan ... from 1913.

My Mom had an album from Shanghai. It appears to be filled with unknown relatives. The only photo I recognized was a huge tombstone over my great-grandfather's grave. It says he died in 1896. She also had letters from my grandmother to home while she was a student at Stanford about 1910. I haven't finished reading them yet.

  7. The party was catered in part, and the meatballs were part of that. The restaurant in question does use the "Impossible" company.

My point on "fad" is this - it seems to be the newest food "thing." Like gluten free, and pomegranates, and kale, sriracha, and the like. Things that people seem to become obsessed with for a short time before they're replaced with something else even trendier. I didn't know that "Impossible" was actually a specific trademarked company - originally I had just heard about Burger King's Impossible Whopper - but I'm still wondering if this is popular because it's the new "thing" more than anything else.

That's an interesting point - thank you.

Pomegranates are a fad? My family has been making pomegranate jelly for over 30 years.
