I get where you’re coming from, but I don’t think asking for tips is such a big deal. In most service industries it’s completely normal- bartenders, hairdressers, even delivery guys expect tips. Why should masseurs be treated differently, especially when most of them aren’t making a fortune off the base rate? I’d rather know upfront that tips are appreciated than assume they’re fine working for pennies

Sounds interesting, need to try soon. I’ll leave a review then.

Ultimately you're there for a massage, and paying for a massage. If you start hinting towards something more than that then its fair game for them to mention they're price. You can take it or leave it. They're not there to build your self esteem and make you feel wanted. You can hire a skilled escort for that. You can't expect them to leave it up to you to "tip" an amount at your discretion especially in a $70/hr place in which they get a third of. My 2 cents.

Thank you. That’s exactly my point- just because someone didn’t work for you doesn’t mean they’re bad. I’m not into massages that feel like a wrestling match, but I know it’s about picking the right masseur for my preferences. If someone gives me a super deep massage, I wouldn’t run online to leave a bad review – it just means their style isn’t for me, and that’s fine..

Not sure I agree with this. I’ve had one of the best experiences with Artem and Sandro. I don’t see anything wrong with them asking for tips, otherwise they’d basically be working for free for everyone. Honestly, I respect that their boss stands behind them, it made me respect the place even more. No one should dictate how they do their job,the only downside for me is sometimes having to wait for the masseurs in the room, that gets a bit tiring. Other than that, it’s really about picking the guys who fit your vibe and not whining about those who don’t. These are young guys trying to make a living,I don’t think this needs explaining…

Please trust that we are already doing our best to make our spa better. We pay attention to every positive and negative review from our customers, and we make improvements based on the feedback. However, we have our own standards for deciding whether or not to terminate an employee.
You mentioned your issue was not resolved and asked me to fire Adem. My answer is: I will not fire Adem, because many other customers appreciate and enjoy his service. Another reason is that the complaint you provided about your experience with him was vague and unclear.
If you are very dissatisfied with that particular session, we are willing to offer you a refund. If you don’t feel comfortable seeing him again, you are welcome to choose another therapist or visit a different spa.
Most of our staff here are young people in their early 20s, and it’s natural for young people to make mistakes. I hope everyone can be more understanding and patient with them. Especially during this difficult time, they truly need this job.
As you may have noticed, there have been changes in our schedule, and for those employees who have seriously crossed the line, we have taken termination measures as well.

Call 311? Girl - WTF is that gonna do? You know there are always two sides to the coin. Why don't we ask Adem what this queen wanted in return for the tip requested??? I've had quite a few massages by Adem and he is very consistent and always attentive to our time together.
Fire him? Take a seat sista .....

Having read all these posts I have two thoughts: You guys in NY are so lucky to have a place like this. And I really liked the responses the manager gave to the various comments and complaints.
Just keep going guys. It's the only way they'll stay in business, obviously.
