  2. From someone who saw both productions, posted on Talking Broadway: "Lee Pace is much more explicit in his nude scene than Russell Tovey was, I wonder if this is left to the actor's decision about how much they will display on stage, I would imagine so".
  3. Also true of the Academy Awards until rock music in the mid-to late 1950s. In any given year, the music may include "Hamilton" "American Idiot" or revivals of Rodgers & Hammerstein musicals, even Styne and Sondheim's "Gypsy."

  9. Yes. Elizabeth Taylor was married to Eddie Fisher and survived a very serious pneumonia scare.
  10. . I have been watching the Oscars since the late 1950s. They have always been unfocused. At least Bob Hope and Johnny Carson hosted for so long, they almost became allies with the folks watching at home. And there were dramatic surprises: Liz Taylor's Best Actress Oscar for Butterfield 8, for example.
  11. I agree. But, Eddie Fisher recorded an album of Oscar winner songs from the beginning to the late 1950s. With a few exceptions, the songs were wonderful (White Christmas, Somewhere Over The Rainbow). And even Eddie Fisher stopped being wonderful in a few years.
