The St. Louis team didn't seem like the National League version of the Yakees when Whitey Herzog was the Manger and General Manager in the 1980s.. Herzog invented the running Redbirds. Stealing bases plus Fielding and pitching. But the lowest number of home runs.

I worked in a Massachusetts supermarket for two years during high school in the early 1960s. When I was a cashier, it was easy. Much more difficult stocking the store, with all those broken or cracked eggs. (Actually, the job requirement was belonging to a union: that job got me through college plus also working Summers.)

My gaydar is good when it really counts. I remember a cute neighbor who had only male visitors. We knew each other.I was sure he was not gay, but he might have been bi. He was married to women before we met and after we lost contact. But, he was single for the 12 years we were friends.
