  1. I was on the board of an organization led by the sister of a well-known mob boss. She could be quite annoying, but had a big heart for helping abused children.
  2. Both groups of people need help. Those who know how to get it and those who don't
  3. Going back to the mis 1950s. I wouldn't mind watching Grace Kelly in "The Country Girl," but not "On the Waterfront," "A Star is Born," or "White Christmas."
  4. For Long time members, one can guess who will volunteer. How about a mix of new people and those who have been here quite a while?
  5. I saw a no-hitter in person at the end of the 1969 baseball season. The Pirates Bob Moose pitching against the New York Mets at Shea Stadium in Queens. Too bad it was almost October because Mr. Moose didn't get much attention. He should have.
  6. Steven is really that old? Is he retired?
  7. Aren't there many more older members Who post frequently than escorts who post frequently?
  8. That would rule out the owner of gay guides who doesn't live in the United States
  9. Glad I planned ahead to retire at age 62 because I planned on a trip to St. Petersburg during the White Nights
  10. @marylander1940 I thought you are 72 now. Wow congrats for being welcomed back, although you should not have been put down initially. Even though we often disagree, you are quite smart and resourceful. The family business should have realized that a very long time ago
  11. I agree completely
  12. Most people here are much younger than you and I
  13. No. Certainly not for people with college degrees,or those close to college degrees @marylander1940 you must be the president of your local chapter of the Chamber of Commerce.
  14. I don't start threads based on other people's comments. Lighten up about your attempt to control the 100s of discussions/threads you start here.
  15. @marylander1940 Why are you just quoting me with no response of your own? You are way off base on retirement ages. "Hit the gym' at least made some sense although many people lost weight, including me, on their own during the current covid19 pandemic. Give people some credit for freaking knowing when to retire. Social Security allows folks to retire at age 62.
  16. Again, how is sixty-five too early, especially for men who tend to live shorter lives than women?
  17. In the Roosevelt and Johnson eras some people wanted to work in government to support the New Deal and Great Society Progress and not for the retirement benefits
  18. Age sixty five is not too early for people with pre existing conditions (heart, Cancer. arthritis, on and on). How is fifty five unfair to others. (I retired at 62).
  19. In the run up to last Fall presidential election, I stopped at Starbucks for coffee most days and to check with a 24 year old man about politics. I remember asking him if he watched the debate the night before. He mentioned that John McCain's mother had died before I knew. He left Starbucks in late November for s Job in a bank. I worked in a supermarket as a junior and senior high school student
